I'm debating betwen Citi TY Premier and another Amex for *D. both?

2014 is going to be the year of the Amex for us. my wife will be going with a Green and BCP to add to her Delta Reserve and I'll be going with a Green, BCE and Delta Platinum. the Greens and BCE are just for *D, the BCP and Delta Platinum are also for use.

Why the Premier? Realistically the Prestige is $75 more and a whole lot better.

 

Unless you just want to churn 50k TYP for $5k spending? Even then, not a particularly great deal...

50k TYP sign up bonus no AF year (30k of bonus is in second year though) 1 to pair with my Forward card. Prestige shows $450 AF v. Premier's $125.

Just acquired an unintended 2nd PenFed card.

 

It was the perfect storm... combination of 1/1 PenFed preapprovals, CWdom & and lack of self-control.

Still pending my new American Express Blue Cash card. I will let it pend for another day or so before calling in. I need to let my other cards hit zero balance and see if they will pull another CRA beside EX.

They must have upped the prestige's AF by $50 in the last couple months. While it shouldn't be hard to recoup the annual fee with the companion airfare ticket and the $200 in airline credits, the value of using it in combination with a Forward card diminishes. Especially now that they price it evenly with the Amex Platinum.

 

Going to have to reevaluate my years app plans, since I was going to do the Forward/Prestige.

Approved! I decided that I really wanted this card so I unfroze EX last night, called the applications status line this morning and received an instant approval. Pretty low starting limit only $2000. I plan to use this card modestly for the first 61 days. I will keep usage under 25% request 3x in 61 days. With my SPG I was maxing it out on a monthly basis and I think that may have been the reason for my first CLI denial.
