  2. As previously stated, I took a BT 0% transfer 0% interest for 12 mos on a NFCU platinum card that I applied for for this purpose to finance $10k of a $45k renovation. 6.99% thereafter on any remaining debt. I took down $9.7k on a $25k line so 38% utilization to keep it under 40% utilization. No other credit card debt is carried. When the o/s debt was reported, it dropped my TU score by 11 points to a low 800’s, Exp dinged me 6 points, Equifax 5. I had no other TU inquiries and have a small car loan is perhaps $2400 on an original $10k (rest was cash). PenFed was not competitive and I don’t have a CapOne card and did not want to get a Citi BT as I currently have no cards with them. I intend to pay 3-4x the minimum due each month after the rest of the work is finished In the next month or two and pay it off using tax refund before it matures at 12 mos. I prob have about $175k in credit lines and never carry a balance. All scores were about 815-820 previous to this. I hope that this is useful to CB as a reference point. Btw, Navy approved me over the phone, have been a pleasure to deal with, and I no longer carry balances or MMAs with them although I did in the past. I have another Flagship $25k line and a rewards card for maybe $2500 with Navy with minimal usage. CV, Don’t Hate Me! I have about four years out of credit card hell and built my history carefully. I was still blackballed by Chase as of two years ago and I prob could get a card as I am 11 years out from default. No desire for CapOne or Discover, no need for any Citi cards at this time (had two, cancelled them). Still gun shy re a chase and while I used to crave a Sapphire I just don’t any longer. Have a ton of Amex cards and a big Barclay, rarely used, Bank of A apart from Navy and Penfed lines. Don’t have the app itch anymore. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. Did your insurance pay for any of it? I was lucky enough last year to get a generous payout after a storm which felled trees on an outside patio stairwell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. However I just got a *plat visa* from NFCU for BT $25k line. In addition to another two cr lines totaling $30k which I rarely use. No annual fee, no transfer fee, no interest for 12 mos, nominal monthly payments, then 7.99% if I am dumb enough not to pay off, using under 30% for renovation of deck and roof (only 25% of total cost, $10k of $40k). It was the sweetest deal I found and I will pay it off in full prior to year end. I have historically kept MMA’s and balances but they are long gone with restoration work. They pulled TU which is about 815, no lates, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Hello everyone. I got a notice that Ubercat is alive and well and posting. Having just been in contact with Cv and still in contact with Houston Lynn and Mitch, are any of my old homies still here? Xoxoxo from NYC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I once used a $3k card (now $30k) and the second payment went through before I had paid the initial 50% deposit. My Exp Fico went down 60 Points. I had no other outstanding credit debt on lines totaling $150k. I was truly shocked Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. Yes, the rate is over 20% and I am in the 800’s so it’s def a gouge feature. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. They are pushing the “plan it” HARD and if you were not on it they will offer you 10k membership rewards points (think $100 gift card at Home Depot). You can cancel it anytime you want which I will do not that I bought the roofing material at H.D. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. This is perfect, CV. I did not find this on my search of the internet. I will use the AmEx MR rate, since that is how I purchased them, at .019/point , and will sue them for $1,976 plus out of pocket costs for fee for small claims court. This is about what I thought/hoped it would be. Well worth a subway ride to hell for SCCourt. I may not even find a lawyer on the other side and win by default. That would be lovely. However, let this be a warning that they don't play fair. Abu Dhabi time for a cut off in points will not play well in Small Claims Court I project. I have never lost in small claims court. xoxo Thanks so much.
  13. Greetings: I had 106,000 remaining Etihad points (had already redeemed 240K) and I was in the middle of the last online transaction of redemption with the balance posted in the corner of my screen. It was 6/30, 3.30pm so I knew I had to use them before midnight. What I did not expect was that they made their *cut-off on Abu Dhabi time* which was 8 hours earlier (it was not mentioned in their reward info, BTW). As I pushed the purchase button, the screen started blinking and it said I had no miles to redeem. I tried to work this out via customer service but they won't bend so I am taking them to small claims court in NYC- Agony. They do have a NYC office so I can use that address to appeal and they will have to be in accord with NYC laws. However, since I can't ask for the miles back (no space on the small claims form for this) I am looking for a way to value the miles at MAXIMUM value. Does anyone here know the program well enough to orient me to how to value them using an honest valuation of them at max redemption value? Since they transfer 1:1 MR AmEx I could use that parameter as well (which is how I bought them originally). I would appreciate any suggestions or outline of how to value them, again at max redemption value $$$. I am willing to be perfectly straightforward about this but I don't want to give the value away. And I am pissed off in spades. Thanks so much, in advance. Lizzie
