I am SUPPOSED to get mine this week. BOA likes to mess with us, especially with direct deposits. So I am sure it will show up on Monday.

um today is Monday... at least I hope it is. I better not have came into the office on a Sunday!

All of the articles about this says that direct deposits should be completed by May 2nd.

All of them, or just the first round?

From what I read in the articles, all of the direct deposits (but the IRS site hasn't been updated to say that). Then they'll start mailing out the paper checks by May 9th...but again, the IRS site doesn't say that, it says the 16th. Who knows???

This might be part of the reason?......

Economic stimulus payments

Economic stimulus payments are also known as "tax rebates" and are a result the recent enactment of the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008.

TurboTax does not ask for deposit information for your economic stimulus payment. However, the IRS says taxpayers who use certain financial transactions with third parties to obtain their refunds will receive their rebates by mail—even if they got or will get their refunds by direct deposit.

This is from the IRS website:

Q. I chose direct deposit for my 2007 tax refund but also requested a Refund Anticipation Loan (RAL) or a refund transfer from my preparer. How does that affect my stimulus payment?

A. Taxpayers who use RALs or refund transfer enter into any other loan or financial agreement with their tax professional cannot receive their stimulus payments by Direct Deposit and instead will get a paper check.

Q. Can my stimulus payment be directly deposited onto a stored value card or debit card where a bank product such as a RAL/RAC is not involved?

A. No.

Huh, I used turbo tax for my taxes and they did ask me for my information because my refund was direct deposited. So how do they determine who is really getting direct deposited, this is going to get weird I can see that now. I know someone who got their's already, I am in the second round...

I just pulled this irs.gov

Q. Can I have my Stimulus Payment direct deposited?

A. Stimulus Payments will be direct deposited for taxpayers who select that option when filing their 2007 tax returns. Taxpayers who already filed and requested direct deposit won't need to do anything else to receive the Stimulus Payment. Taxpayers who did not request Direct Deposit for their 2007 refund will receive a paper check by mail. The IRS reminds taxpayers who haven't filed their 2007 returns yet that Direct Deposit is the fastest way to get both regular refunds and Stimulus Payments.

From the IRS website, it says that the first round of direct deposits will be started on April 28, but they will be completed by May 2. There are three rounds for direct deposit.

Checks, it appears, will be mailed beginning the 16th of May.
