Barclays (Regular CSRs may not know this is possible, but the credit department can combine limits. Call them directly at 866-408-4064.)

Yeah, when I called for recon the other day, I mentioned during the conversation that Barclays has a lot of different cards, and the lady said that I could move CLs around between cards if I wanted to. Good to know. :good:

Yeah, i figured some folks here already knew about it...I was mainly saying "good to know" for myself.

I forgot to add that I used this number from the backdoor numbers thread, not the CSR number: (888) 298-5623

I also used this number to transfer. I was able to do it as soon as both cards showed up in their system before I even got them in the mail. (I purposely left $1000 on the donor card.)

I called the Barclays credit department at 866-408-4064 and closed my Rewards MC and moved the limit to my M&M MC. The new CL showed up immediately online.

I finally closed my Barclays Rewards MC today and moved the limit to my Miles&More MC. That has me down to 1 card from 4 last year with Barclays with a CL of $24,100.

Did anyone hear that Capital One will soon be combining Credit lines? Is this true?

Where did you get this info?

I read it at that other popular website where you get the most respected scores in which lenders use.

Anyhow, I read it in passing that someone on there mentioned that they saw it on FB from capone.

Take it with a grain of salt. I can't find that post on FB.

My eyes bleed when I read that much about Capital One. Is below a good summary?

- Can be done online. Donor card must have $0 balance and no pending charges, and is automatically closed upon completion.

+ be in good standing

+ linked to your online profile

+ 6 months

I think the cards also need to be at least 6 months old.

US Bank calls it a 'line swap', and it costs a hard inquiry (TU for me yesterday). Moved a 5k limit and closed the card - reflected this morning.

I will update this when I'm back in front of a computer next week. Thanks for the contribution. :good:

Yup. I did it for my dad a few months ago and he got hit with a TU HP as well.

Let me ask you guys since I've been out of the loop for a while....

I'm about to do a mini app spree for my mom, before I begin I want to combine her Citi cards. What's the best way to go about it? I spoke with a CSR a few months back and was told it can be done only during a new application? How does that work? Is that over the phone? I just want her to start cutting back on cc's. The less the merrier (with high limits)

Yesterday I called the Citi EO (Somehow ended up with number to President's Office). I am trying to take $5k limit from my HHonors and move it to Double Cash. The person I spoke to was asking "how did you get this number, it's the President's office?" lol. I just told her i got it "from the internet." She took my info for both cards, and said she will submit it to see if I am eligible to do this. She said it will probably be one or two business days before I will get an answer, and she will call me back. She gave me her name and her direct line to call back if I have any questions. No mention of a hard pull. I will update this post when I get an answer one way or the other.
