Steroids are DONE for now.:yahoo::dance:

I guess they'll be back, probably, at some point, but only in short bursts. I'm so happy to hear that. I was melting down at the thought of another month of this madness.

This was Gab in September, when she started school.

This was her yesterday...

Unreal.

She had another bone marrow biopsy and a lumbar puncture today, and it still sucks a LOT watching her go under :(. Awful. We should find out next week what the next cycle is and how the leukemia has reacted so far. Fingers crossed!

She is a brave girl! That is so disheartening to see a child go through something like this. :cry2::angry:

Please post on here if you or your family need anything at all. Gift cards for groceries, games, whatever.

So we had those procedures Wednesday, and found out not only are her numbers doing GREAT, her ANC number (the complicated number that's calculated based off of a lot of other stuff, like white cell count, times some percentage, etc) is around 600. It was ZERO when we left the hospital... and, I hear, at around 750 you can start discussing with your doctor taking her out (in the shade) for walks :D

This weekend was so rad. She was happy, and moving, and drawing, and almost her normal self. It rocked. :yahoo:

We find out tomorrow how the leukemia reacted to all the treatments. Think good thoughts!

She is doing super well :D

They couldn't find any detectable amounts of leukemia in her spinal fluid, or bone marrow. Which means, once she's done with the 2 1/2 years of chemo, she has less than a 5% chance of the leukemia ever coming back :yahoo:

AND!!! She was given clearance to make quick runs to the store occassionally, AND!!!! To go to Disneyland this weekend :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

Does this mean she'll get to keep DS company when we're there to do Disneyland in October?

Hopefully!! This weekend is kind of our only window to go to Dland, because the med she'll be on this next cycle drops her counts on purpose, so she'll be more succeptable to infection... so once that starts we'll be housebound again for the next month. But this week, we plan on going everywhere and doing everything
