SM sent at midnight, requesting PC, from Slate to Freedom Unlimited.

Response from Chase received at 1:30am, for confirmation.

:)

Thank you for contacting Chase requesting a product

change.

I've changed your account to a Chase Freedom Unlimited

Visa Non-Signature Rewards card as you requested. Here's

what you need to know:

- You should receive your new card in 3 to 5 business

days. We're sending it to the address we have on file for

you.

- You can continue to use your current card until your new

one arrives and you confirm that you've received it.

Please destroy any cards and access checks for your old

account.

- The account number and Annual Percentage Rate(APR) will

not change as a result of this change.

- You will still be able to view your old account online.

Slate Credit Dashboard is NA/Blank.

Ultimate Rewards button is showing.

Did it all by the secured email on Chase site? Yay! I'm gonna tell Chase to Freedom Unlimited

Affirmative

I apologize if this has already been addressed somewhere but, when you do a product change, do you also receive the new promo rates and bonuses that would apply if you app for the card separately?

Nope.

You do get to keep the age of the account (general advantage) and with Chase there is the benefit for most that the 5/24 rule precludes getting any new core product.

When you changed Freedom 5% to Freedom Unlimited, did you have UR points still left in your Freedom 5% account that just went to your now Freedom Unlimited account? Or did you have to redeem/transfer the points first, before the product change?

I'm not sure.

You can always call, and ask.

I just sent a sm to Chase to change my Slate card to the Freedom Unlimited. Got a message back saying they are changing it to the visa signature version. My Slate card only has a limit of $3200. Does Chase offer VS cards below $5000 or are they telling me they're increasing my card? (which would be most welcome, of course :-)

Not sure yet. I had to recon an Freedom Unlimited app today but i also requested 1k more than the 4k they offered me with the stated desire for it to be a signature card. They understood me and will let me know tomorrow if they can do it...

So I heard again from Chase. The Slate card credit line needs to be at least $5000 to be converted to the Freedom Unlimited Visa Siggy. I requested an increase to match my $20,000 Amex and got the dreaded 7-10 days. I saw that they HP'd Ex already so I called the recon number. The nice analyst said that the app is still pending but she would review it for me. Put me on hold for a couple minutes, came back and asked a few questions and then upped my Slate to $15,000. I'll take it. She said I still have to send a SM requesting the Freedom Unlimited but they'll see the new limit and will process it right away.
