impaladre63 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 (edited) Say for instance if it's my tenth statement, limit is $6k, then I downgrade from Amex BCP to the Blue cash everyday...the BCE picks up as the 11th month and credit limit is still $6k is that right? impaladre63 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Thanks..I think Amex is gonna be a longtime friend Quote
ubercat Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Can we add US Bank...also, does anyone know if they will reallocate a card holder's CL to a new app (denied) like CIti? Yes. I was declined a personal card and for having too much credit and closed a business card to open the personal card. They also let you combine limits from any card to another card. It's not instant like Chase or others, but it will be done by the next day. I can also confirm this (US Bank). Called UW (took two calls) and they said moving limits isn't a problem at all. Also, if the donor card is at a zero balance you can move the entire donot limit and close the card. Quote
cv91915 Posted December 16, 2014 Author Posted December 16, 2014 As a point of reference, the credit limit on this card is higher than the sum of all of my credit cards combined as of 3/1/13. Bravo CV. On another note, does anyone know if PNC combines? I just got issued two 20k cards w/ 300 dollar sign up bonuses attached to each.. So I would love to combine these cards after I hit the spend. I'm interested in knowing this as well. They issue a lot of cards. Quote
mendelssohn Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 (edited) My Barclays experience was painless. I started with: $2,050 Rewards MC, opened June 2013 $8,850 Arrival+ MC, opened June 2014 $10,000 US Airways MC, opened July 2014 $2,500 Miles & More MC, opened September 2014 I called regular customer service and explained what I wanted to do, and they transferred me to the credit department. I closed the Arrival+ and US Airways cards and moved the full CLs to the Miles & More. Now: $2,050 Rewards MC $21,050 Miles & More MC Edited December 16, 2014 by mendelssohn Quote

swingline Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I just got a Chase Amazon card and was approved with a $500 limit, which seemed low given my 800+ FICO score and low utilization. Turns out the reason was I had a Chase Freedom card with a large unused credit line. Upon my request, the rep was able to redistribute as much credit line as I wanted from the Freedom card to the Amazon card -- which I want to use for the 3% off Amazon and the 2% for gas/groceries. BW1216 Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 why did you get rid of the Flagship? that's the only one that has growth potential. Paying an AF for a card I didn't use was pointless. I'm okay with the fact that the cashRewards can only go to $50k. My Merrill+ card has more upwards potential in the future vs. the Flagship anyways. Quote
Cappy Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Just got off the phone with Citi EO... Couldn't get a CLI but was offered REALLOCATION without any questions... I didn't take the offer, but just reconfirming that it could definitely be done VIA EO... Quote

rjb75 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 (edited) I was able to move $1500 (crappy $2k limit) from a 23 mo old BCP that was unused and not worth paying the AF on to my Hilton Surpass card which was opened 9/2014. I also tried to take $500 from my $1k toy SPG personal card also approaching the AF date but got a 7-10 day excuse. I did this because I have tried numerous times in the past to get a CLI on either the BCP or SPG but was denied for various bs reasons. The Surpass was the first card that Amex granted a CLI on from $7k to $17k. Two things learned here-$1k and $2k toy limit cards, at least for me, will not be granted a CLI by Amex. In fairness, both of these cards were acquired when my scores were south of 700 and I burned them on a green card 20 years ago. More importantly, if you get the right chat rep, they will reallocate TLs over 13 months old to a card less than 13 months old. Edited January 18, 2015 by rjb75 Quote
almostanonymous Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Can we add US Bank...also, does anyone know if they will reallocate a card holder's CL to a new app (denied) like CIti? Did you happen to find out how old the donor / recipient accounts must be, or if there are requirements at all? I really never see myself using the FlexPerks Amex and if I move the CL over to the Cash+ it would give me a good non-CU prybar. Quote
