Let us know how it goes please.

I'd be especially interested in learning if their max is $17,500, like I experienced. Even if you don't want or need to move that much, I'll buy you a Zagnut if you ask the question and report the answer.

I moved 20,000 from a Thank You Preferred to a Forward that already had a 20,000 limit. I don't know why they told you 17,500 is the maximum, but it isn't.

So apparently you can move from 2 existing cards?

I plan on keeping an eye on this one for successful PC. Especially around the 7th. I have a worthless Dividends card I'd like to convert. I'll then try to move some limit from my Forward card to it. There's only so much limit I need on an Amazon/restaurant card anyway. With a high limit 2% card I can do more damage.

Just remember, anyone planning on churning this card, Citi codes things weirdly and errs on the side of paranoid with anything remotely financial sounding. I would test purchase to avoid large cash advances showing up on your account.

I'm on the lookout for evidence of people successfully moving limits between Citi cards, aside from when a new card is approved.

I'm waiting for my AAdvantage to be PCed to a Dividend. Once that happens I am going to try to move some of my Dividend limit over to my new Double Cash card. I will let you all know how it goes.

Any tips on making that happen? I have an AAdvantage I want to PC to anything without a fee but the phone reps keep telling me I can't. I'd like to PC to this.

Are they telling you that your account is not eligible, or that it is not possible at all? I just called the number on the back of my card and I had no problem at all getting it converted. I just have to wait a bit for it to actually happen. It is scheduled for 10/13 and that is when they will send the new card.

How long has your account been open?

Less than a year. They stated that it needs to be the same product. I clearly should just call again.

Can someone tell me if this is a MasterCard? I need one so I can report merchant violations to both Visa and MC.

I too would like to know what payment network is used

I just called. The guy said it is generally supposed to be a mastercard but he as *heard* that some are issued as Visa by special request.

Regarding AAdvantage product change: you have to wait for 12 months from account opening to do a product change. They will bill the annual fee. You then have 30 days to change the products and the will refund the annual fee. So I am waiting for november then asking again.

From what I have read, any credit card account has to be open for 13 months before it can be converted. But I thought that was only if the conversion would increase the annual fee, so I'm not sure why they wouldn't. Edited by tammylj

My account was open since 2012, so that makes sense. At least they will refund the fee.

If the question about payment network hasn't been cleared up, yet, I can confirm that mine is a MC.

Almost all of my worst cards that dont have a Discovery logo are MCs.

New app or two existing cards?

Who did you talk to?

Two existing. Regular customer service transferred me to her supervisor and she filled out the form and sent it to whatever department it is. The next day it was done. Last November I spoke to an underwriter to get approved and she was able to move 18900(my choice) from one card to the new card, but said she could do any amount I wanted right then.

Yes, but not as easy as Chase.

I was able to bump my CL to 20k now that I have an account number, so they're not being too bashful with limits.

They seem to be able to take credit limit increases right away now. Last month I was able to do when when I added the card to the online profile. I know before it would be declined and said to wait six months.

I was told I had to wait until I had my card by Citi, but I found information on the "other forum" that you could call in once you have the last 4 of the card number, which I received both via e-mail / snail mail. No card yet, though.

With the Forward now completely out of their catalog, I'd expect to see them get converted to its successor, namely this card.

Speculation on my part, but they're trying to curb TYP earn rates, and the Forward is a big impediment to that.

I'd love to be proven wrong, but I don't think I will be.

I see. I didn't try before I had the card, just decided to do it when I logged in one day. It's good that they're letting people get higher limits sooner, especially if it's really needed. I also didn't incur an extra hard inquiry, even though it was about one month since they had approved the card.

It does seem they're attempting to cut off the easy way to earn points. They did just introduce using your ThankYou Points in Bill Pay if you have a chequing account with them. The rate isn't 1:1, but I reckon people won't pay attention to that and just use it anyway. Citi sure knows how to keep their profits high with their ThankYou Points.
