Reveler Kitteh will be offline for spending. PMs sent. Be back in a couple of hours!

Thanks! I've been working on the $6K combined for CSP and Citi this week myself.

Thanks, everyone!

Lucky C*, I don't know why Lowe's has been easy and Walmart has not.

Same with me.

I would not have expected that a store like Walmart would have higher credit requirements than Lowe's or some of the other Synchrony cards.

I have a feeling that the Walmart side of Synchrony is more conservative or just wants to see heavy usage like Barclays and would probably like to see the usage outside of Walmart.

Lowe's customers certainly have a higher incidence of home ownership, and therefore higher financial and credit qualifications on average, than the average W*****t shoppers.

I used my Walmart card heavily when I first got it and was not rewarded at all. I used it in Sam's Club and for gas mainly. It will never see any use at this point other than the minimum to keep it active.

Which is why it's confusing that the Walmart card has more strict requirements than some of the other Synchrony cards. I opened my Lowe's card in Feb this year and have had 2 big CLIs. I opened Walmart in June 2013 and have only had success with the luv button every 4 months. I have been turned down by the UW every time.

Btw Mendel, our scores on Tu and total CL's are basically identical now

Even weirder, I also have 14 CC'S like you. Getting spooked right now

How about we race to $250K?

LOL... this racing stuff is getting out of hand... See what you did HL*

Well, we are starting with the same number of cards, same CL,... :D

He would have a huge advantage because I have a little over a year until my reports are completely clean.

My reports are not completely clean.

Is the race on? :D

I know you're the favorite or at least people want you to win, because I think people dislike me here.

My CSP statement closed on the 14th, and it is finally reporting on EX and EQ this morning. That gives me four 5-digit tradelines reporting.

I'm going to try calling the Synchrony UW again in October for my Walmart card (4 months) and I'm also going to try with my Lowe's card again. I still have some cards reporting less than $5K, but my new goal is going to be $10K for all cards. Maybe Chase and Citi will show some luv and give me a soft inquiry CLI like many have been getting. I'm not going to try though until they are at least 6 months old.

Captivated, even though we are racing to $250K, I'm not going to change my strategy. I'm not applying for any more cards right now, and am going to focus on CLIs.

Lol. I have been gardening since March.

My goals as well are for all cards to have 10k on each of them.

I'm also not applying for anything new.

We have the same strategy.

Let's not race.

Let's do things right and both accomplish our goals. :)

OK :)

I wasn't going to change what I am doing.

I think it's easy to get stuck with low limit approvals if you add cards too quickly without growing what you already have.

A lot of the newer cards that I was approved for were for 5K because I waited for things to report.

It saved me the hassle of requesting cli's at a later date.

Exactly.

I'm still planning to try for CLIs for issuers that will pull EQ and TU when my reports are clean before applying for new cards.

EX and TU have 38 student loan baddies and EQ has 17. I think it's worth it to wait for me. :P

I've been trying to figure out my Barclays strategy, and I think I have a plan. Any feedback is appreciated.

I'm not going to bother requesting a CLI on my Rewards MC, and I'm just leaving it open until it hits the 2 year mark and then moving the CLI to the US Airways MC. I have my utilities on autopay with this card.

Since I just put a fair amount of spend on the Arrival+ to hit the bonus spend, I'm going to request a CLI next week. I'm not going to be putting much else on this card, and I'm going to downgrade it and keep it open for 2 years total.

With the US Airways MC, I've already made my 1 purchase and paid the AF for the bonus. I'm going to put a small purchase on it each month to try and attract some kind of bonus spend challenge. After that, I'd like to put as much money through it as possible for a month or two and request a CLI.

When I close the Rewards MC, I'll move the $1K to the US Airways MC and also move everything but $1K from the Arrival to the US Airways. That will give me a 5-digit limit on the US Airways card.

I'd have longer than that if I hadn't cast aside all scruples and sold my soul to the El Diablo to clean my SL TLs.

I'd like to hear this story... :D
