Pulled the trigger on Chase's Slate card today for the 15 month 0% BT option.

They approved me for 10k (my max exposure with Chase is too high as I have Chase Amazon Visa at 10k and Chase freedom at 4k) so that gives me 24k total. I will shuffle my limits from Freedom and Amazon almost entriely to the Slate and then transfer over my remaining debt to this card for 15 months of 0%.

I still had 0% on about 3/4 of my debt for the next six months, but I will save hundreds by getting the other 1/4 at 0%, not mention add 9 months of 0% to the other 3/4. I don't know how long these 0% deals will be around as interest rates rise and I want to play it safe. 15 months from now they could easily be gone.

Resigned from the mortgage industry - it just didn't end up calling to my heart in the end as it did prior to India. I will let my license expire this winter. I have a nice idea for a new non profit company however that I will be throwing myself at for the next year and hopefully developing up while I spend a few more months in India... and it also is somewhat credit related. :)

KAYVEBEAR,

Have gotten ton of Pre-approvals in the mails since joining the 800 CLUB.

In your opinion what would you go for.

From Chase-

Freedom & Slate, both the same BT offer for 15 months (IIRC)

From First NATIONAL Bank OF Omaha-

Their Platinum card & their AMEX branded card

From Bank of America-

Cash Rewards

and the last two

TD Bank siggy Rewards Visa

Barclay rewards card.

thanks

Hey Art !! Congrats on hitting 800!! Before I give you the little wisdom I have (I am only familiar with half the cards you listed), what are your current credit goals? Do you need 0% BT's? Or just trying to add to the portfolio to increase avail credit and lower over all util%? Or just collecting for fun like Hegemony? :)

Freedom and Slate offer the same 15 months 0% interest. Slate is a 0% transfer fee tho. Freedom is 3% transfer fee, but you also earn 1% on everything. I also got a $200 bonus for spending 3k? in the first 3 months so I came out better with the Freedom.

Kayebear and Lummy, I need a good BT at them moment to get a CL paid off. Even though my uti is sitting under 10% I have a $10 K balance that I need to work on ASAP. When it rains it pours and I have sewer pipes to burst in my main home under the house and also in a rental property. Both of those set me back over $5,000. I need to become a plumber me thinks. The only alternative was to smell sewage all day so that wasn't going to happen, LOL

Kayvebear, when you got your 2 Amexs did you get them at the same time? Over the phone or did you just do an app on the computer back to back? Just wondering since I would like to get 2 more AMEXs with just one INQ.

Love the D* that I get that goes all the way back to 1987 when I was a young lad. I have 4 cards with them now but only 1 credit card. The rest charge.

Right now Slate is looking good with a 0% APR as you said Lummy. Might go with Chase and 2 AMEXS depending on what you say Kayvebear.

thanks
