CAP ONE: Pay for less or Pay in full
-
Let me add some clarity to this situation the OP, fell on hard times and has a bunch of CO, one of which is C1, lets say the OP owes C1 $3,000. C1, has offered the OP 2 settle options for a 50% off offer to settle the CO debt, and of course any settlement that will result in writing off more than $600 the OP will receive a 1099 for. they are offering a payment plan for the 50% off your choice 3 months @$500 a month, 6 months @$250 a month for 6 months, or 9 months @167 a month for 9 months. or pay off full amount @$70 a month for 3 or 4 years. So, the OP is saying should he/she take the 3 year full payment option, which is less money out per month plus, they may look at he/she favorably in the future if they complete the plan and pull this off, and give the OP the opportunity to make a deal and payoff some of the OP'S other charge-offs? I believe there could possibly be a third option available however, many of us for whatever reason will not call to even ask. I would call and actually talk to someone and ask for the deal you want in the best case you will get that deal in the worst case you will get a deal better than they offered through online or the same exact deal as online. Additionally, I think settling with the OC is better than with a collection agency, and the choice you should make should depend on your budget. Personally, I would take the 1/2 off deal if it is within your budget. and I would opt for the 9 month option with the intentions of paying it off sooner, if at all possible before the 9 months either way hopefully, you would payback no sooner than January of next year and have a full year to find a tax solution to offset the 1099 in 2025. Further more, if you took the pay back the full amount option and should your financial situation go bad whilst paying back your debts then you can consider BK or some debt consolidation options. Worst case scenario in the future you will qualify for secured card with Cap 1.

I rented a car in Aug, my CC company paid the charges. In November I receive a credit I assumed it was a miss calculated payment I go on with my life thinking that surely they will correct the mistake of an overpayment, fast forward mid December I receive a notice from the car rental asking me to pay for services, I assumed it was late incoming toll charges, the amount was small not the cost of the rental. There are a lot of useless excuses why I didn't act before now, one being I was disgusted with yet another bill (I should have paid). The letter came last week cutting me off as a rental car user with debt sent to a JDB. I'm sinking bad. I called both OC(car rental company) and Bank( credit card company) both on the line at the same time, I asked them what happened bank said OC just sent a refund they don't know why and the OC said only the customer or the bank can request a refund. Bank said I called on Nov 22nd and requested a refund that happened on Nov 18th. OC said the bank said I requested a refund on Nov 7th. The bank has no record of me calling until Nov 29th about an unrelated issue. I asked for supervisors from both OC and Bank and requested an audit of what took place, recorded phone calls and all. My card was not over the limit so I don't know what happened but now I'm in a jam I can't take a hit from a new collection on my credit especially from something I never requested. Additionally, consumers have 60 days to dispute a transaction I believe my 60 days would have passed. I will PIF the OC but I can't pay the JDB, the bank can pay them I won't. So, I am sure there is a loophole to have this situation reversed and resolved. Need some advice of how to move.

Reported to EWS, Account closed 20 years ago
Credit Please replied to Credit Please's topic in Chexsystems Help
no, nothing. -
This type of stuff only happens to me. So, 20 years ago I had a 2 piece account and my account was closed at least to my knowledge. I have had several accounts with credit Unions since then with no issues. For the the record I have a strong hate for Trad Banks, so I never apply and never had the desire. I have not had an Traditional account for more than 20 years, so I’m more than confident that opening an account with PNC will be smooth. Nope, I was rejected and immediately ordered my EWS, the rep went over my report over the phone with me, I requested email report, but I digress. She said the banks name, she verified the opening month and year 1997 the checking was closed in 1999 and said they closed the savings account in 2015. I did not receive a statement for these 20 odd years. How can I manage an account I know nothing about? I need to dispute this, but not sure how to approach it. They reported me 20 years ago waited 15 years and reported me for the same account. How should I approach this dispute?

What is or would be your happy out come from this situation? Do you plan to pay them off in full someday or renegotiate an affordable payment amount and keep the car? I believe they are planning to pick the vehicle up soon, ask yourself if its worth it (any fight)? If DH has little to no income the smartest money move would be to do like Elsa, and "Let it go" and buy the best point A to point B car, stop the financial bleeding allow your husband to heal without the stress of Bridgecrest breathing down his neck.

How insulting and dismissive.... CP is far from his "3rd baby mamma" since she married him decades ago and been with him ever since. He has kids with 2 other women. Actually he has 15 more children with 5 other women, we just can't find them so they don't count. But this is just my side of the story. -
