  1. Some of you may know me from days of yore as "Echo". Tigz is my mom. Some of you may know she was diagnosed with ocarian cancer last year. Some of you may know that the cancer had returned and was being treated. But in spite of best efforts, we are now at the end. Mom has been in incredible pain for these past few weeks, failing all efforts to improve her condition, she has been admitted to hospice, and will be passing within the next 48 hours. I believe that my sibling has set up a go fund me of some kind, for those who are interested send this profile a note and I'll give you a link when time allows. Nothing is expected, anything is welcome. I will add details on the funeral date when they become available. God bless.
  2. The way that I look at it is this: If his children (who are apparently adults) have not been contributing to his care and upkeep....screw them. It doesn't matter that he had enough money to hire someone to take care of him. If they only did the once every couple of month phone call or Christmas cards....screw them. Now if it could be proven that his caregiver manipulated him in some way, that would be different. But by how I read it, it sounds like they (the children) just care about the money.
  3. I remember when my mother passed, we did the notification thing with all the CCs. Then we did the blanket notification to creditors as required by law in Florida. She only had one or 2 CCs with anything owing on them, but I remember that when the lawyer got the creditor letter back, they were requesting considerably less than what was originally owed. So anyone know what they typically knock off on the first request?
  4. who is diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. Stage IVa Centex and I can start comparing Chemo notes soon.
  5. Oh! I am so, so, very sorry sweetheart.
  6. LOL, For some reason Florida builders like slab and concrete block. At least it won't blow away in a hurricane.
  7. I'm so sorry. I'll uplift her and your family to the almighty.
  8. Keeping you my thoughts. It could have been a one-off. Since you mentioned that you went to the chair under the fan I am presuming you broke into a sweat. (common when someone is about to pass out). It could be your BP was low or you moved too quickly. I've also been having some medical issues lately, so I understand the worry. Try not to be up for way too long and make sure you have something to snack on if you need it.
  9. So let's say I want to replace an old tub that has been refinished too many times (hey, it's 70 years old, it's had a good run) The house is on slab, so obviously the plumbing is also in slab. The tub that is there is a 30 inch tub, but I want to replace it with a 32 inch tub. Obviously the drain will have to be moved an inch. How involved will that be? Would it be better for me just to forget it and go with the 30?
  10. The problem is that people see shoplifting as some sort of game. They show no remorse for stealing things. Hell, one of my daughters friends BRAGS about what she makes off with. (well, not really "friend", more like acquaintance, someone she went to school with)
  11. so..... They want to unionize so that they can pay union dues that will be more than any increase that being part of a union will give them?
  12. opinions? My computer is inviting me to upgrade. what type of upgrade problems are common?
  13. I'm still waiting to see how she died.
  14. Married to Christ (or to the Church) Many wear a ring.
  15. Tried the search button and....nothing. My (deceased) mother's phone is getting constant robocalls from these people. Although it is asking for me. However I am her personal representative so any debt notifications would be addressed to me. So, has anyone heard of them? I'm seeing online where a lot of people think it is a scam.
