Finally a card that’s all cash that you control. The U.S. Bank Cash+ Visa Signature card lets you choose and change your 5% and 2% Cash+ Categories, plus you get 1% back on everything else - with no limit on how much you can earn.

  • Earn 5% cash back on two categories that you choose, like home improvement stores or airline tickets.1, 2
  • Earn 2% cash back on gas, groceries or drug stores – choose one.1, 2
  • Earn 1% cash back on everything else.
  • Get a $25 Cash+ Bonus each time you redeem $100 or more cash back in a single redemption.3
  • No Annual Fee

I saw this on an Other Place. USBank may be allergic to me, but it seems like it could be a really good card for others.

Sounds more like "Name your own 5% Card".

You could easily use this to cover the areas you do not have 5%.

Looks like you need to choose 5% category quarterly. Also seems to imply you have to change categories quarterly as well (ie you can't have same categories all the time). Still the card looks interesting.

I read it more like the categories default to 1% each quarter, so you have to choose again. "Categories subject to change quarterly" simply sounds like they reserve the right to eliminate or introduce new categories.

The 5% bill pay option is interesting & unusual. The 5% for travel-related categories such as airline tickets & hotel bookings also sound great, although it only applies to direct bookings. I think 5% dept stores eclipses anything available. 5% for home improvement stores would be fantastic for a quarter if you are about to do some major work on your home -- 5% back on a $10K remodel = $625 with their +$25-per-$100 bonus. Heck, if I'm a small contractor I'm all over this.

Recent California US Bank pulls appear to be EX... I wonder if they'll pull something else with EX iced?

Well I love the department stores and restaurant 5%. That would help me nicely.

I've been a long time US Bank customer, and I think I'm going to PC my Flexperks Visa to this new one. Since it's a siggy, I wonder if CL reporting will change.

I think home improvement may be as close as it comes, but bill pay seems like it could potentially be promising.

WANT!

...but I wonder if it would negatively impact me apping for a mortgage in the upcoming months...?

Also, there is no special bonus for opening an account other than the 0% interest on all balance transfers for six months. :(

Do you think they'll be handing out 100$ bonuses or something similar when they start promoting the card? It definitely seems like a pretty decent type of a Freedom/Discover/Dividend "supplemental" card, like they're gunning for that second or third credit card wallet slot for those of us who already have strong rewards cards.

Experian® Credit Score – Internet Banking customers receive their Experian credit score at no cost.

We need a guinea pig to see if this is a FICO.

Also, 5% on categories you choose would be really nice so you can fill any gaps that you have in cash back. With the $25 cash bonus per $100 redemption, you can effectively get 6.25% back on the card. This thing is fantastic.

Live internet rep states that it's a FICO. Free Experian FICOs, right here.

Sunshine: Hello, my name is Sunshine, how may I help you?

You: I'm looking at the Cash+ Visa card and saw that it gives Experian credit scores. Are these FICO scores?

Sunshine: That's a great question! It would be your FICO score through the Experian Credit Bureau. Were you looking to apply today?

You: Not at this time, but this does help with my consideration of the product. Thank you very much for the clarification.

Wonder if this siggy card grants a nice hidden (non reporting) tradeline. Some do, others don't.

It could also be the opposite. Where it reports but doesn't list limits. That is crappy.

My US Bank Visa also gets a monthly Experian PLUS FAKO.
It's GARBAGE, since I already subscribe to USAA CCMP.

If you apply through their facebook account you get a $50.00 bonus after spending $500.00. Sweeten the pot a bit.

Anyone know how generous they are typically with CLs?

Also, do they just pull one bureau?

You've been around long enough to know how to answer that!

CP shows data from all over, but in the case of you & I, a very recent Los Angeles data point is EX. However, the other CA data point from earlier in the year shows TU, and others show EQ. The Citi Forward you're looking at is a definite EX pull in Los Angeles.

I have EX on ice. I'm really camping out for a PenFed pre-approval, but I kinda want to experiment.
