shifter Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 the key to moving limits with Chase is to avoid the front line CSRs. I've heard plenty of "nos" from them. I always call the backdoor credit analyst and they transfer me to a backdoor limit manager. I've never heard a "no" from them. Quote

funkiehouse Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Will: American Express - Revolving Cards ("donor" card must be 13 months old have 13 or more closed statements; must leave $500 - $1,000 on "donor" card) <-- Subtle refinements based on 10/22 call to Amex http://creditboards....24538&p=4982507 http://creditboards....18868&p=5046586 How long do you have to keep the donor card open after transferring credit? Just until the limit is transferred. If your donor car is at least 13 statements old you can ignore the rest of this reply. From my experience the front-end reps can successfully put in a limit transfer request even when your cards aren't eligible. It's happened to me twice. About a week later you'll get a letter in the mail telling you that the donor card isn't eligible because it isn't old enough. Third time around will be next month, and I'm waiting until I see the Sourpuss limit on the SPG before I cancel the Sourpuss. I'm absolutely NOT requesting both the transfer and the closure on the same phone call. Thanks! Quote
trubliever82 Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Message navy yesterday about combining limits and got this message. Navy Federal Response 11/16/2014 : Thank you for your message. At this time we are no longer moving credit limits in between existing credit card accounts. If you would like an increase on your existing Flagship account, we will need for you to submit for a credit limit increase for review by the Credit Card Lending Team. Quote
shifter Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 NFCU should never have been on the list. the only successful record was someone moving part of an existing line to open a new card. that's totally different. Quote

There was a thread this week where someone was discussing getting a CLI on one card, moving the increase to another card and then getting another CLI on the first card. Wasn't that NFCU? Quote
trubliever82 Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Yes I read that and they performed tranfer for me no problem the first time. I wanted to move rest of card over but now they wouldn't allow it. Quote

trubliever82 Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 I'm going to call tomorrow and try, seems more dependent on who you speak with. Some people have been told that before and call or messaged again and got someone else who said no problem. Quote

DevilsOwnLuck Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 On Barclays "yes" and Citi "no", how will we expect the US Airways and AA merger to play out? Combine limits and close one? Not combine limits and leave them both open (AF for each)? Require closing one and refusing to combine, effectively losing a good TL? I won't (don't) need 2 AA WEMC. Quote

CTSoxFan Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 I am testing the ability to move Citi lines again. I went through the EO to move the line from my plat AA card to my new Exec AA card. They said they would require a pull, I asked that they use the pull from 3 days prior that was used to approve the card. Was supposed to receive an answer mid-week, will update with results. Quote
