Just called to try to convert my linuxfund.org visa siggy to this and was told it's not possible. Will probably try again at some other point but not looking great.

Just applied with EX frozen... 7-10 day message. USAA CCMP shows no pulls, so I assume they tried to pull EX. (I'm in the Los Angeles area, and the most recent US Bank data point in CP is EX, though they've showed a variety historically.)

Some info for others about U.S. Bank customer service/credit policies:

- Minimum 680 FICO for unsecured credit products (Signature cards are generally 710 or higher).

- Conservative lending practices. Not bankruptcy friendly.

- Generally will not product convert between Visa and Visa Signature cards. Employees have the option, but not customers.

- Customer service is entirely U.S.-based.

- Subpar online banking.

- According to sources I have within U.S. Bank as well as U.S. Bank's Facebook page, the card is available in all 50 states (this is a first for a Bank Branded Card of their's).

- Generally conservative with credit limits and credit limit increases. However, they will be generous if you have an existing relationship, or demonstrate proper account handling.

- Not as likely to AA as some creditors.

- The free Experian score is a FAKO, not an actual FICO.

- Applying in branch generally results in an EQ pull. Applying online generally results in an EX pull. At least for the West Coast.

And no, I do not work for U.S. Bank, before anyone asks.

Doubly nice to know!

Is it weird for me to walk into a branch and apply like I never did online with EX frozen?

The application will likely get put into duplicate application status and a report won't be automatically pulled until a credit analyst reviews the application.

If you wait 30 days or so, the first app will drop out of the system, and applying in branch should automatically route it for an EQ pull, and decisioning or review, depending on your credit.

Oh right... Thanks for the help on that. I guess I'll call them and see if they'll pull another bureau

Although... my open SLs don't report on Experian anymore (~$50K), which actually drives my CCMP FAKO down a little and I believe was the big hit I took on PSECU EX FICO last fall because I have no other installments, but apparent low DTI (w/ 5% UTIL) may be beneficial for applying with a somewhat conservative lender like US Bank. What do you think? At this point it may be worth adding a 7th EX pull (2 PSECU (12/10), 2 Citi (2/11, 4/12), 2 AMEX (8/11) because I can't envision any other EX-pulled products that I desire anytime in the next year or two.

Do you know if the CL reports, or is it like other siggy cards that report high balance?

The U.S. Bank Travel Rewards Visa Signature card reports its limit, so I'm going to say that the Cash+ will as well. But, it could vary, of course.

Does anyone know if they'll merge two credit lines, if I do end up having to apply for the Cash+ instead of converting?

They will not merge lines.

Experian® Credit Score – Internet Banking customers receive their Experian credit score at no cost.

We need a guinea pig to see if this is a FICO.

Also, 5% on categories you choose would be really nice so you can fill any gaps that you have in cash back. With the $25 cash bonus per $100 redemption, you can effectively get 6.25% back on the card. This thing is fantastic.

When I checked mine earlier last month (siggy card also offers this) it was the same as my credit check monitoring service score (USAA) I'll double check when I get home.
