  1. Thanks for the response. I have 7+ open CCs with 100K+ of CL available across them and $0 in CC debt. I pay in full every month. Don't have money for closing costs and $2K in the emergency funds. Maybe I need to wait? It took me 5 years to recover from my previous credit handling mistakes and I'm just tired of wasting $$ paying rent. The first car loan I got was for 18%. My current car loan is @ 1.99%. Credit scores are in 750+ across all 3 CRAs.
  2. Hi Folks. I am planning on purchasing my first home by Dec 2017. I have no money to give down, the annual income is 60K and all 3 reports are clean (Zero baddies). The only thing is that I have moved 3 times in the past 2 years so have all those addresses on the reports. Also, each report has about 10 inqs on it. In addition, I have no CC debt and the only have a car note of $300/month. How much of a house loan can I expect to get approved for? What steps should I take (Credit wise) to ensure I go thru a smooth home buying process? Can I keep on applying for credit for another 6 months? Should I focus on LN? ARS? etc? Who should I apply for a house loan with? Banks? CUs? All advice will be greatly appreciated.
  3. I'd like to know this as well Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  5. Will freezing the LN cause any harm in the long run? Like getting identity verified for new online accounts in the future? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. I'm no expert but you are at the right place. People here are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. What I have read so far is that it will take one sometime to get everything cleared up. Just hang in there. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Is there any downside of freezing these? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Loan products look comparable to what I have at my disposal now. A shot at another 50-80k card would be pretty sweet...even if there would be an AF AND the rewards likely mean it wouldn't see much use. I'm torn. One of the benefits of NFCU is the flexibility of their credit products. No fee BT's, and they seem to routinely offer promos. No fee CA's, makes it easy to get your hands on a chunk of change for a day or two if you need to. Some of these benefits would be more conducive to business owners, although they have some great benefits for M$ as well or people who carry balances with some routine. My next thing to set up from NFCU I got from PotO. Set all of your CC's to min pay from NFCU checking, and then tie in the CLOC. Even if you keep no money in the NFCU checking, you have a safety net on all of your CC accounts if you travel often, get hit by a semi truck etc. It works like a charm! If you set your due dates up to fall a few days after your CLOC statement date, you have a larger safety net. Everybody has a system for paying bills designed to never be late, and 9.99 times out of 10 it works. I'm no exception, but the one time sh!t happens, the safety net is there. My wife put a recurring charge on one of her cards for $2.99 and forgot to tell me. Long story short, it got paid by my Navy CLOC. Yeah, first time in decades something slipped by and I felt like a dumba$$, but I was a dumba$$ with no late fee or, worse yet, a 30-day-late on my credit reports. How is NFCU's CLOC different from PENFED's personal line of credit? If one cant get in to NFCU, can they try qualifying for the PENFED's flavor? Are the terms any different between the two?
  9. What is a CLOC? And what sort of a proof is required by NFCU if lets say you are being sponsored by your brother or a sister? And is it open for roommates as well?
  10. For those who have joined the NLSD, when you receive the membership documents from the Navy League, does it mention anywhere that you are member of the San Diego chapter?
  11. Does it matter if you are employed @ the time of applying to NFCU? Do we just put NA in the employment box?
  12. If a membership application is denied applying via NLSD, can one reapply? Or are we blacklisted forever?
  13. I had a split file with EQ and had to fax them identity documentation with ATTN: Request to merge credit files. Took them about 10 days to process. Thanks a lot for your guidance. Did you get the fax # from their CS?
