Elan serviced products have in the past pulled EQ where I live in Virginia. Uber did some research on this though last year and started a thread of Elan app links IIRC.

Could be a regional thing like others... :dntknw:

All I have available right now is TU. I may app for it and report back...only 1 inq currently and since my TU file split several months ago a handful of new accounts haven't even reported.

I'm doing a final Serve load on my current Fidelity Amex and will move remaining limit to BofA card once I pay the Serve loads off.

Will give me one BofA card with $30k limit.

I do have a Fidelity cash mgmt acct currently....guess I need to transfer any remaining world points to it if I can.

They have a FAQ up when Iogin to my Fidelity account talking about the new product. It indicates that current cardholders are eligible to appl for the new Elan-issued card, or may also wait until their current cards transition in mid-2016.

I just filled out the application and rec'd message "unable to process, will notify in 7-10". This means they didn't want TU and based on prior experience with Elan apps, they wanted EQ (at least for me). I didn't think they would pull TU, and if they did it would've resulted in an approval, new bank relationship, new high limit card with BofA, etc. so I didn't mind the attempt just to share some data.

I'll try to call and see if I can get them to pull TU.

Why would someone want one of these cards?

Unless you can't get approved for the Citi DC, I don't see any reason for this card.

Maybe because Costco is going to accept Visa soon. But can't see much of any other reason besides a lot of places that don't accept Amex

Everyone will have different reasons for applying......my Citi DC is an absolute turd at $1700 and they won't increase it or let me combine limits without a HP (spent 10 minutes on phone with EO today). It will most likely get closed along with other two Citi cards I have just to reset the rewards clock. Citi only represents $8.5k of my $420k total limits. I honestly wouldn't mind if Elan gave me a new 2% Fidelity card with a TU pull. I'm closing the Fidelity Amex anyway and moving that limit to my BofA card.

I called the application number for the new product and for anyone reading, don't expect an immediate answer. It's a front-end rep. taking the application information and it goes to UW from there.

I called the same number to check application status and you can't even enter credentials to check via automated.

Based on all of this, it's a long way of saying I applied with EX and EQ frozen seeing if they'd pull TU. They did not. I will not be giving them EX or EQ so this was all just an exercise to share some data....no new account for me. Carry on....

2% no-AF card.

1% FTF (Citi DC is 3%)

Leaves exposure open with Citi for other points/miles cards

Many people have burned Citi in the past

Maybe they'll pull a diffferent bureau than Citi pulls (Citi will only take EQ for me)

New card is apparently issued by US Bank, so potential for TU pulls.

And those bastages will only take EQ from me in VA...and laugh if I give it to them. :aggressive::grin:

What does it mean that it's serviced by "Elan" ?

"A division of US Bank"

Similar to what Best Buy is for Citi.

Just serviced.

So you definitely can't go by USB pulls. Completely separate
