Hello, long time lurker but first post. I didn't see this covered here.

Set up an online account with one or more of the numerous WFNNB backed cards that has the option. Input all your correct personal info and phone number. Put a few items in your account and go to checkout. When you checkout they will usually soft your credit report and if you meet the store cards standards you will get a box that says you've been preapproved for a card, they offer you a credit line, and to click to accept. If you accept, you get the account with no hard inquiry. You do not have to complete the transaction. If you want to make the purchase you can use your new card immediately.

Here is an old YMMV list of WFNNB cards:

Have we determined this is indeed a soft pull initiated from making the account and going to checkout, and not merely a check against a list of existing prescreened names?

Just tried this with J. Crew.

Filled out all information but NO box. Just PLACE ORDER.

Perhaps I don't qualify ... but definitely intrigued by an inquiry-less new account.

I was offered a $2200 Victorias Secret card and I am opted out and I have all 3 bureaus frozen. I didn't accept it because I don't want the card. Just a data point.

anyone know what bureau they pull as I have a different address on each bureau thanks to some ridiculous company reporting the wrong addresses I have never lived at. My middle name changed too.

Wow. Yeah, I went as far as entering my promo code, and the only thing left to do was enter my cc number and hit "purchase". No love..

I have never gotten any prescreened offers from VS (or anyone else for that matter  )

I was reading the myfico forums the other night and someone mentioned that they'd done this with several WFNNB cards so I decided to give it a try and it worked.

I just tried Express, Buckle, and Eddie Bauer... nothing.

I used to have an Eddie Bauer WFNNB credit card... it was closed to inactivity (I actually just called a couple weeks ago begging them to reopen it). It was in good standing, so I used all the same information that was on file for that credit card, created an account, checked the box that I was interested in promotions, Buckle had a checkbox to receive more info on their credit card... And none of these allowed me to get a card. WTF?

I tried this before with a couple of their cards with no success.

Well, after having been up for literally 24 hours, not tired, just kinda not with it, I decided to try again:

Victoria Secrets-Yep, $300

Spiegel-Nothing

Chadwicks-Yep, $250

Express-Yep, CL wasn't disclosed

Newport News-Nothing (would have actually possibly used)

New York & Co-Nothing (would have actually possibly used)

Pottery Barn-Nothing

I think certain cards have higher 'standards' than others. And, I think they may have caught on to my game. I did read in an earlier posting on the same subject that WFNNB is inquiry sensitive; even with their own.

Hopefully others will have similar success. I think the best thing is to try to obtain the cards from stores you know you won't patron, relieving any and all temptation. If I use any of these cards I'll be extremely surprised.

Didn't work for me, not sure if its because I opted out, didn't put enough items in my cart, or didn't fill in all the account info the way it should be to trigger the soft pull...

Worked for me. Out of that list, I can only see myself actually using King Size.

Steps:

- Go to KingSizeDirect.com

- Click on "My Account" at the top

- Select Create An Account on the right

- Enter my info

- Once new account is created, put in a item in the shopping cart

- Go to checkout

- Look at the bottom, it will say pre-approval on Credit card

Click on that and you should get the terms and so on and ask if you want to accept it or not. One thing I noticed, when I submit to create my new account, it did some time, I think this is when they soft you. My preapproval was for $250.

Lol, maybe we can use this for B* :D

You know what, you may have hit on some gold!!!!!!

I do pull everyday from USAA CCM but, the day before I only B* 1 and today, 2. I did try a couple more after I last posted; I should try more and see how many B* I get. This is what I'll do, I'll wait til Monday and do about 10, if there are ten more with the same set up, and see how many B* I get when I pull Tuesday.

Experiment time, YES!!!!! :mid-air high 5: :P

WFNNB is an Experian only puller, so I doubt you will get very far with B*.

Hmm i just hopped on experian and didn't see a soft pull from any of these places. Can anyone tell me why Im not triggering the soft pull?

EDIT: Is it because I opted out last week?

EDIT2: I also have Fraud Alert on my Experian
