  1. I have NEVER found one and mines have been on ICE since Jan 1010... Not looking back. That's not a freeze - that's an ice age! Yep!!! I wanted an Amex one day... Main reason for the freeze...

  3. Why not? You can get in thru National Military Family Association for $20.00 or Voices for America's Troops for $15.00. That is how I got in... I cannot hit apply, I cannot hit apply, I cannot hit apply, I cannot hit apply,,, LOL! You got me... I like that. Let me say this will be my LAST app for at least a year.
  4. When you sent the letter to EQ, did you tell them you were "Not Responsible" It should always come off then. Do not dispute the lates.

Changed my mind.. called Penfed... they have 3 products I can use, The secured card requires a credit pull, Not much of an issue, I will just go with that Lynn37 stepped off the Kona wagon (Every time I hit the apply button I think of your signature...I think of you often ) Stepped?? I fell flat on my Butt!!! I need to transferee the money to my share shaving account, Then I will let them pull. I would love to have a penfed card in my wallet.

  8. Major Midland thread, I saw it today... Read it... You can get rid of them.
  9. No other prime cards, I was waiting till my hards went down, (I went on an app spree after I closed on the house in 12/09) The spree lasted for about a month. and was giving my cards some age. Was planning on getting Alliant, But the problem is They will use MY income only. Plus after hubby and I saw how well we were being treated by NFCU our plan was to refi the house with them. So I was waiting BUT Life happened.
  10. Ok Now I know I cannot re-fi, Well it make no sense to do so. Even so, My new income does not support it. Speaking of my income, Since it has been cut, A LOT.... getting any new credit is out of the question. No one is going to give any larger cards due to my income. Looks like I will be stuck at where I am for a lonnnng time. So I am setting some goals for myself... Just keep on PIF my cards, No new cards Really cannot get no new cards unless I lie about my income, (NOT going to do that) All of my cards are past the one year mark, Some of them are around the two year. So I have some good age. Got some rebuilders I will like to close... Keep my NFCU cards only, perhaps they will like me enough to for CLI's without sending in paperwork. Going to pull my reports tonight, see what is on there. Make sure some of hubby medical bills did not end up on there. Well that is all..

    I am back....

My rate with chase is 5.25 which by all accounts is a good rate, I know I can get a better one with NFCU maybe 4.25, But I will not know unless I apply.. and I am worried because my income bottom line is not enough. I do not think I will get past underwriting. UNLESS I put a large chunk of money down. Anyway I is a good dream right? Getting 1% off a 5.25% is about a 20% improvement, ignoring other costs. However, I would suggest hanging onto the large bundle of cash. Things happen, and having a large cash cushion can be a great comfort. Thank you Bob, That is what I was thinking also.

  13. Jen It is good to see you here, I am honored to post in your thread.... Thanks, I will keep this in mind...
  14. I been gone a while, Lots of stuff has happened so I will keep it short... Credit is still stable, I have created a few credit whores, 4 as a matter of fact, 2 of them will be closing on their first home in a few weeks. I had just moved in a new home, well I am still here. But I learned a few hard lessons in life while I was gone. My husband, who was my rock, my soul mate passed away April 29,2011 after a very short battle with lung cancer. We did not find out about his cancer till Oct 2010. Lessons learned.... That box that offers credit insurance, GET IT.... It is a PIA to fill out forms, have doctors fill out forms.. But the bill get paid every month, and god forbid if you die it gets paid off. Side note The worse banks to deal with credit insurance are HSBC, and Citi. They take their time sending the forms, and like to give the the run around. The best bank is NOT a bank NFCU, They ROCK!!! OMG Best people to work with. When my husband could not work, they sent the forms quickly, and when I turn them in made a decision within 48 hours. When he passed away, they sent his account to a special handling called deceasent accounts. All I had to send was a copy of the death certificate (which I was allowed to fax) and they handled EVERYTHING! PIF! Moving on.. One thing I learned here was to save money... I did that, Got us through till his social security kicked in. Another thing learned here NEVER buy a house at the top of you budget. We got approved for much larger loan, We got a house for HALF of what we were approved... Guess what? I can afford to stay in my house with my limited income alone. Why is this very important?? I am only 40 years old, I thought as long as I was widow, I can collect widows benefits from social security, I was wrong>>>> I can not start collecting these benefits till I am 50 and ONLY because I am disabled, If I were not I cannot collect till I am 60. My husband did not worry to much about leaving me, He knew I had made sure we both and our credit will be protected if something happened to either one of us. The Only bad thing is I have evil CHase as my lender, If I could get rid of them I will be very happy. My husband and I were planning on doing a refi with NFCU this summer, That will not be happening unless I drop a big chunk of his insurance in a down payment. Which I think will be a real dumb idea, But I will take ANY suggestions about this. Well I going to jump back in... see what the new credit rules are, it has been a while..
