Did the 2 for 1 for mom - Both new cards D* to 2005.

They did not go off the Member Since date from my Biz card login.

 

When I received the cards, with 2014 MS Dates, I registered them to the same login page as my biz card. Then used chat to get the D*.

 

Fired up to see what the addition of these do to my reports.

if it's your first Amex

 

2 revolvers will NOT work.

 

the second will get kicked back into a 5 day waiting period

 

and will cost you another hard.

 

if you already have an Amex

 

you MIGHT be able to get 2 revolvers.

 

1 charge + 1 revolver is the tried and true method.

Just got this to work. Applied for SPG first (instantly pending), but they hard pulled EX. So I went back and applied for a Platinum which also went to pending. I called about SPG first thing yesterday morning and at first the CSR said I would have to wait, then called back to say it was approved ($5k). I called back last night about the Platinum and the CSR pushed through approval in 2 minutes. So far just 1 hard pull.

I just got chase freedom yesterday (hp of TU) and I checked and am eligible for gold and platinum Amex. I don't have Amex yet, should I try for a 2 for 1 today?

 

This will give me

Cap one secured ($1000) jan 2014

Cap one quicksilver ($3000) sept 2014

Chase freedom ($4500) jam 2015

 

Amex gold or platinum

Amex revolver

 

I also have hp for car in July 2014 and Verizon February 2014

 

Is that too many hp's or are the Amex worth it?

 

I will be buying a new house next fall (more than 6 months). Need some advice!!

What are the benefits of the Gold or Platinum that appeal to you? The Gold isn't a good choice for most people.

Experian FICO is 673.

 

I don't really care about the rewards as much as I am trying to build credit back up after loss of income a few years ago. I am in great financial shape now (income over $100k and plenty of cash in the bank). I am trying to get my total credit available up to increase my scores.

 

TU (641) and EQ (595) are still weak due to redeemed repo in 2011 and charge off on 2 CC in early 2012. All debts are now paid in full. I PIF every month and make on time payments for existing mortgage and car.

 

Would it be a good idea to get the AMEX since its being offered or should I just hold what I got? I am planning to sell/buy a house after June. I know my scores are weak, but I will be able to 40% down and a lender I know feels good about it. I don't want inquiries or age of accounts to hurt my chances.

Costco Revolver reported to EX today...seems like I got lucky with the speed!

 

EX went from 15 accounts, oldest 16.5 and a 4.0 AAOA to...

 

16 accounts, oldest 19.1 and a 5.1 AAOA

 

TU stats were identical to EX, but my EQ is at 5.0 AAOA without this reporting yet.

 

And my PRG hasn't reported yet either, so it should push me into the 6 yr on EX and TU and maybe 7yr on EQ

 

Took my oldest open account from 2.1 years to 19.1

 

No myfico update yet...

 

CLI's across the arsenal are next based on these stat changes

Bang is right. Less than 5 months ago EX was 580ish on my Amex denial letter...

The Costco revolver hit EQ on Jan 11th. After EX on the 10th. No word on TU yet.

 

No word on the PRG from all three.

 

Just some points for science.

 

No myfico alerts yet, only change I've seen is USAA EX Fako going from 717 to 726. USAA EQ Fako didn't budge from 726.
