I can attest to that. Amex declined my 1st CLI request because, among other reasons, I bought two tanks of gas and paid to efile my taxes with an Amex. I guess they prefer I didn't stoop so low with their card in my hand.

Nice. Just pulled up an old statement. Starbucks was the first transaction on my AMEX Optima (oasis) card. I guess that explains the subsequent $10k approval for a real card.
