so it wasnt a good idea to charge that $1500 worth of porn on my new AMEX. Dang it!

 

 

hmmm.... gas is usually my first purchase to make sure the card is working.

 

crooks do that too when they steal a card.

first purchase models affect CLI...

I can attest to that. Amex declined my 1st CLI request because, among other reasons, I bought two tanks of gas and paid to efile my taxes with an Amex. I guess they prefer I didn't stoop so low with their card in my hand. :)

FWIW, a good first purchase: starbucks.

Nice. Just pulled up an old statement. Starbucks was the first transaction on my AMEX Optima (oasis) card. I guess that explains the subsequent $10k approval for a real card. :)

when we make our twice yearly trip to a favorite winery, i charge like $500 worth of wine... it was never the very first purchase, but it was one on my first marriotts statement.
