WHOOPS! You are right! My bad :)

All good... I chaulk it up to the great minds think alike trick. :)

That's what I love best about CB. With very few exceptions, we're all on the same team here. Everyone benefits from the combined knowledge of those that came before. Its like a brain, only better.

Called GE and they will not put me through to underwriting. CSR stated I am not eligible for an increase at this time and she cannot put me through to underwriting for that reason. Last increase was July 2012. Anyone ever heard of that or have another numer to call?

Kayve said the number was "somewhere" -- I was just pointing out that the number he posted in HIS thread works for Walmart as well. They answer the line as PayPal, but handle a variety of other (but not all) GECRB cards.

Denied CLI by UW for Chevron Visa. Tried to take it from 5K to 10K, used my Dismissed BK-7 in 02/05 against me along with AAOA (2.5 yrs), 7 inquires in 2 yrs as excessive (3 in last yr) and utilization too high (was at 15%). Does not always work for everyone. I have no baddies showing other than the BK.

Congrats to everyone who got a CLI. Didn't work for me, though. :sorry: Scores are low 600's and CO from Citi is the biggie that's holding me back from everything. I am heartbroken, and really could use that CLI from Lowe's right now. I did talk to a rep that said, "Nope" to me wanting to talk to an underwriter after she tried for the increase. Then I called the number from the thread, and talked with a really nice lady that couldn't help, but said she'd gladly put me through to underwriting. I really had my hopes up. Then I get transferred to the 'underwriter' that was a snippy lady with an oriental accent so harsh I could barely understand her. She said to wait a few minutes they needed to get a copy of my credit report, then she came back on and apologized and gave me the spiel about the letter in 7-10 days. Sigh. If there was ever a time for an increase it would be now. We have a TON of renovating we need to do to this house. This is the love I get for keeping this card in good standing for 8 YEARS. :cry2:

+1

.. while... people such as myself, who have ran their $300 AE card up to the limit then take MONTHS to pay it down, and having a low score ATM in general.. MAY see an increase in a few, IF credit can be kept in good standing..

It really is YMMV.

Let's keep that number forefront for all those that wish to play the Press Your Luck game with GECRB Underwriting, shall we? :) *beware of WHAMMIES!

So, we haven't tried the UW number yet, but getting ready to. Seeing the denials for some people through the UW's is a bit troubling to me. Obviously they aren't going to approve everyone and certain criteria needs to be met. With that in mind, would those who've been approved for big UW cli's mind posting what their scores were upon approval? Since January I've paid all of our cc's down, after maxing out several over xmas, current util is low, less than 5%. Still reporting higher though. Once everything has updated and I make 2 final payments to get util at about 1% I plan to try the UW, but if those cli's are with scores above 720 I may hold off. I'm assuming once balances update TU should be about 710, before the xmas shopping sprees TU Fico was 672 w/ about 25% util.

Well at least its a soft pull and not a hard pull. So you really dont have anything to lose its a yea or nay. They have been very good to me and i had a BK in 2004 and only a 730 score and 1% credit to debt.

Dont give up people keep trying. Well just GE alone i was able to get $125,000 in credit with them.

For those of you interested my TU FICO was 712 at the time of the denial.

For me GE CLI is about following the rules.

1 - Call between 9:00am to 11:00am et

2 - Don't talk to an american underwriter lol They are stingy!!

3 - Shoot for the star. They will counter offer!

4 - If you don't get it the first time, call again the next day.

Don't worry about your scores per se, they won't see them anyway. They seem to go mostly by your track record with GECRB and, to some degree, your income.

I've always tried to make at least a very small charge on the card each month to establish a track record, then pay the card to $0 a couple of days before calling. I like to wait 4 months + 1 day since the last CLI, but it's not really necessary (unless using the automated system or luv button) - can't hurt though.

There's no reason to wait 4 months unless you actually get a CLI! It's from the last CLI, not the last request. So, you have nothing to lose! There's no hard inq and if denied you can just try again.

Go for it! :good: And good luck. :)

Edit - oops, typo.
