Read elsewhere that TU had axed someone's Amex backdate so I recently checked and my Amex opened in Oct 2013 and backdated to Oct 1982 is now reporting as opened in Oct 2013. My EX and EQ still shows the backdate.

Uh Oh

ETA - Mendel is wishing his Cap One wasn't closed.

Not really. I have a lot of old installment accounts and also other cards opened close to Crap1.

FWIW all my D* Amex cards still report D*.

All of my Amex cards still report as B* 1970.

How could Transunion change the open date, unless Amex changed it's reporting?

All of the reports of B* change are based on CreditKarma.

I'm still good on TU CreditKarma.

This will be a popular thread.

One of my Amex cards reported to TU yesterday. It is still showing the correct backdate.

It is my understanding that Amex cut a deal that existing cards would continue to report the backdate.

Same here.

This may be a TU issue since they are completely incompetent.

TU can only aspire to be incompetent.

For some reason there have been no reports of this problem from any of the other TU monitoring sites, except for creditkarma.

Have you checked your actual TU reports or your backdoor TU reports?

Have you checked WalletHub or SavvyMoney?

Signed up for wallethub it's showing open date in 2013 not 1982. This is a TU thing apparently.

Wallethub has consistently been a few weeks ahead of changes in R*...

..we might be seeing the early dawn of correct reporting.

The OP on the myfico thread also reports the change reflected on CCT.

So, of course i checked my CCT score and I updated it and GUESS WHAT?? TRANSUNION IS NOW 823 DOWN FROM 844...UPON LOOKING INTO MY CREDIT REPORT I SEE THAT AMEX IS ONLY A LITTLE OVER 2 YEARS OLD.

If this is true, you know the change came about because some deadbeat burned AMEX and then sued AMEX and/or TU over improper reporting.

Probably. The only other explanation would be that I posted a how-to chart on it, but I didn't so...

The end of an era? Oh, well...I have so many TLs now, I don't think my scores will change much.

If this is from Amex, it will hit EQ and EX soon as well.
