Ok mendel - Per your request I started a thread when they posted my FREE EQ FICO 5 - I guess it's different than DCU's FICO 4

1. Free Checking Account Opened - 4-7-16

2. Received Docs to e-sign 4-8-16

3. Verified Funds 4-19-16 (I was busy traveling and didn't have time)

4. I have checked daily as part of my obsessive compulsive account management habits I've acquired since coming here. This score did not appear until today 5-12-16

5. The score noted that it was 707 and pulled on 5-3-16

6. They also note that it's the same score they use to Manage my account.

I guess we will see if they pull on the 3rd of every month or if that was a fluke because I am a new customer and it's out of cycle

Anything interesting other than the free FICO to join for?

Active Rewards members (active checking, a loan/cc, and estatements to qualify) get 0.5% reduction on auto loans like a lot of other CUs (this puts them as low as 1.49%, compared to 1.74% at DCU). They also get free domestic wire transfers which isn't something I've seen offered a lot of places and can be a real benefit for some people.

Was there a HP to join Langley? If it's a SP then they may have just leap-frogged over DCU on my CU-apply list. Free mortgage FICOs and good auto rates are things Imma need in the next year.

I got an email today from Langley Marketing that my FICO score was ready as well.

I don't mind posting screen shots as I have posted others of my accounts.

However, when I'm asked to post that level of detail, it is a cause for pause to ask why you want to see it first.

The membership was an SP to join.

Screen shot of the FICO and the accompanying description of the FICO score. That's what I'm referring to.

I'm not asking for any personal or identifying information, or even reason codes why your score isn't higher. You don't even need to share the score.

For example, DCU has this in the fine print below the score: "This FICO Score is FICO® Score [5] based on Equifax data. Third parties may use a different FICO Score or a different type of credit score to assess your creditworthiness."

I'm asking for a shot of "FICO" and the scoring model for proof of what score they provide.

I guess the tapatalk picture posting changed? I finally figured out how to do it. You have to attach it and then when it says server does not accept attachments you can upload to tapatalk.

It used to be you could insert right from the Gallery.

Yes its a Soft Pull. No credit products. I did take the free checking though.

I had an SP AR on my EQ from Langley on 4/26 but this says 5/3 yet there is no SP from 5/3.

Penfed does something where the SP ARs show up where I can see them a week or so after it has already been pulled. I pull my EQ daily and look at my SPs mainly to see whos snooping on me.

Thanks for the info. That is one of the scores commonly used for mortgages.

It is a soft pull to join? All you need is membership (no credit products) to get the FICO? It doesn't indicate if it is updated monthly, quarterly, or whenever?

To answer your question. It is updated monthly.

Here's what was in the email I got from the Langley marketing department on 5/13/16

Which checking account did you get? Smart Checking, Smart Checking Plus, or LangleyPays? Looks like they are all free. LangleyPays might lead to a hard pull (Offer applies to members with a credit score of 600 or better depending on credit qualifications). The Smart Checking and Smart Checking Plus do not have that asterisk.

Edited to add: Might want to read the Langley threads on myfico. They were the flavor of the month over there last June and some posters had issues.

BTW, late last night I discovered that Robins Financial credit union also provides Equifax FICO Score 5 if you have an active checking account or VISA card from them.

Unfortunately it doesn't say how often the score is updated. "When Robins Financial receives updated FICO® Scores during its normal course of business and the scores are updated within Online Banking".
