Okay boys and girls, here's the deal:

I had to write to the president of HSBC to be able to apply for this card. I have been working on this for literally 2 1/2 months. A woman from the office of the president has been in touch with me and was instrumental to getting this application available online.

Please be aware that they have JUST launched this product publicly and they are experiencing a lot of delays and problems with the roll out. First of all, it's taking about a week to get through the Lending department for final approval. Additionally, there is a glitch in their system and it appears that these accounts are not displaying in the system until the cards are activated. Lastly - and this should come as no surprise to anyone who has ever dealt with HSBC, the CSRs are not at all knowledgeable about either the card or the problems in setting up accounts. The moral of the story here is BE PATIENT. They really are working on this and are trying their best. The person from the president's office has really gone above and beyond for me, and I can give her number out on a case-by-case basis if there really is a problem for anyone.

I applied on 11-9-07 and received my card today.

Now without further ado, here's the link:

For the people that used to have amex cards but went through the F/R, can you apply for amex cards issued by banks like cit, usaa, bofa, hsbc?

Yes, this isn't AMEX Centurion Bank. They're just using the AMEX network. You can get one even if you're blacklisted by AMEX.

Wow! HSBC and Amex are not to words I'd put together on a sentence much less a card. Is this card

a step up or down :) Joking aside, what kind of ficos are they looking for? Also, I don't need another 300CL

card. What are the terms ?

FYI, it doesn't go to a card selector page. As HSBC is wont to do, it pulled EX for me. (Declined, but then I was really seeing if it did the account selector thing or not.)

AMOUNT OWED ON REVOLVING ACCOUNTS IS TOO HIGH

PROPORTION OF BALANCE TO LIMIT RATIO ON REVOLVING ACCOUNTS IS TOO HIGH

PROPORTION OF BALANCE TO LIMIT RATIO ON BANKCARD ACCOUNTS IS TOO HIGH

(Darn that big balance transfer that reports no limit or high credit.)

Note, I just applied and was denied due to having a public record. I've NEVER been denied for any HSBC product due to public record. As a matter of fact, I just received an HSBC card 2 weeks ago. This will be interesting to see who and who does not get approved for this particular card.

Yeah, if I cared, I'd ask for recon, but I don't think I do. I was just takin' a hit for the team.

Denied.

637 EX FICO.

LENGTH OF TIME ACCOUNTS ARE ESTABLISHED

I too refuse to mess with HSBC at this juncture. No more EX pulls for me for another 24 months anyway.

Good luck to everyone else. I wonder how large the CLs be as well.

In response to your application for a HSBC credit card account issued by HSBC Bank Nevada, N.A.

Unfortunately we are unable to approve your application due to the following reason(s):

BANKRUPTCY FILING REPORTED

TIME SINCE DEROGATORY PUBLIC RECORD OR COLLECTION IS TOO SHORT

Wow, if these instant declines keep showing up this is one monster application thread that will never be.

Its probably easier to get an Amex Delta card than this one.

anyone else take a risk for it.

Denied. They pulled EX for me in NY (worst report, sub 600) and I was denied for - get this - INSUFFICIENT CREDIT REFERENCES

And i have about 40 accounts on my report. The CSR was clueless and less helpful than the tissue I blew my nose in.
