The Simple Life

Thanks Tee, I do agree & I think things happen for reasons also. Its a strange thing I had about 90 % come to the conclusion I wouldnt have any of my own as we tried for a long time & I was starting to have change issues as well but That 10 % hope was always in the back of my head.My husband was more on the 90 % hope scale so that was really the hardest part of it.

Hi Guys, thanks so much for your support I really appreciate it as i have been through the wringer. Sorry I did not respond sooner but I was exhausted. appx 2 weeks ago I cheated death twice unkown to me I was about 2 days away from septic shock,I had mass sacs of infection in my chest acute abdomen pain sent me to the emergancey Ct scans showed I needed an emergancy hystorectomy but until they got me open the did not realize how bad as the scans did not show it all. I went in upset that I would never have children but not expecting how I woke up.A 2 hr surgery became almost 6 My uterus was so large they could not cut off my blood supply and I was bleeding out they ended up having to cut me almost to my breastbone and take it in pieces 4 units of blood later they got to it.I also had grapefruit size firbroids wrapped around vessels and organs & I spent 2 days in ICU on a ventilator as my lung collapsed.My doc said this was the 2nd hardest surgery they ever did and he thought the whole time he was going to lose me. The good news is many of the medical issues I had as well as weight and the anxiety & the most recent sugar may all have been caused by this so months from now supposedly I will feel like a new person. The bad recovery is slow especially as I ripped my inscion open & my husband has to pack it twice a day as well as things that usually would distract me like online are smoke triggers so im keeping them to a mininum as I still want a ciggarette every 5 minutes. Thanks again {huggs}

Married folks: do you open your spouse's mail?
LeslieBre replied to Nostromo's topic in General Discussion
Yes to all of the above minus personal letters or cards we both do. To us the CC cards are no different then the utility bill & we 100 % share our money/accounts.Whoever opens them puts them on the calander & I pay them. It really depends on the 2 people & what they consider private. Ps: we both have all passwords & often check emails but by request. -
Okay, now I have a question for you married folks...
LeslieBre replied to dang's topic in General Discussion
Pretty much the same here the key being the last sentance for us both. While we do most things together and we both are pretty open types its not a requirement type thing .We are both homebodies & prefer outdoor type activities. We always invite each other to do things but that doesnt mean we both always go & we also do not play the jealousy game. Also do not have children so we also can have alone time if we want when we want. The only major type rules we have is no lying and privacy wise keep parents out of arguments/issues. Both of us are far from clingy & function quite well by ourselves .We just happen to have similar thinking, interests and enjoy each others company. -
Awesome!!! If it cleared up that quickly perhaps you should do an internet search of plants that are toxic to dogs. Then go out and do a thorough inspection of your yards. Things that are good for you and me can be horribly toxic to dogs. While it may be a waste of time, it might save his/her life in the long run. I agree, also if you have bird feeders make sure you have a seed catcher , make sure you dont use certain mulches like cocoa mulch is a killer & if you get garden soil with manure in it they will try eat it as well so mulch it right away lol. Same with the sticks and such someone mentioned & woodpiles if you have .My pup is always trying to steal kindling. Glad to hear he is better

Im wondering the same thing, as a lot of people dont just come out and say they dont want to do something & use spouses as an excuse.Silly imo as it makes the spouse look bad. DH & I as well as most of our friends never have been big on the guy girl night out thing as a norm .We do go out or do things seperate but between us all its more of a whoever wants to go is welcome & it ends up sometimes just the guys or girls.Part of that is because we all share the same interests. However in the situation you described I would go alone & if I did not want to go alone I would just say so

Would people PLEASE put up their shopping carts!
LeslieBre replied to Tigz's topic in General Discussion
Your dogs are so cute!!! They look really old but happy and cute!! Thanks The black one is old but the other is a pup she was all scruffy from her brother who likes to hold her down and clean her. I'm going to dissent here, but not returning carts to a desingated spot doesn't make you a prick, or necessarily meat you're fat, and certainly not that you're not a 'normal; human being.Yeah, may be lazy. You could also be really upset at the store not assigning enough people to cover the cart recovery.. The grocery by my store always has cart runners in parking lots, and I've never had my car damaged. There is also parking further away from general action.. excersize.. make sure you don't become a lazy prick.. with a fat flowers.. I agree it most often the skinny ones I see leaving them while my big butt is putting them away. -
A crabby German DH loves it I dont I prefer cold cabbage.

I am SO not looking forward to spring
LeslieBre replied to deluxmary2000's topic in General Discussion
maybe take some photos and ask them at the local nursery/landscape place what you have. -
Still tons of snow on the mountains but its finally gone down here in the valley. Right now getting beds shaped, trimming trees & cleaning up pine needles galore + rock filled beds. I did get some Primrose ,Azaleas and Rhodies & my tulips are starting to come up. I also got a second pole feeder system for hummers and a birdbath yesterday.I am really excited I missed having a real garden the last 3 years. The previous owners pretty much pulled stuff out & put rocks in the beds( of course he pulled the rocks from the rv parking which is now mud) he also added the rocks to the front parking which used to be blacktop. so I put money aside as I have a list of about 100 plants or so + soil and what not :)Its kind of funny evrything I mention I plan on doing down to house colour the neighbor said is how it used to be before the last owner uglified it.

Man loses tooth as bowlers brawl over etiquette
LeslieBre replied to Marilie's topic in General Discussion
Common courtesy would, however, lend to it only taking one instance for someone to 'get it.' After that one time, when the jumping continues, it is clear that the open bowlers just want to be a PITA. Good houses will intervene at that point since the open bowler is less likely to be a steady source of income while houses will typically rake money in hand over fist with a league bowler when you factor in league fees, open play lineage (even if one has the reduced PBA rates or equivalent) and bar sales... Well for instance Butterflwings example if they guy had made a point of showing her by example minus the eye rolls etc..maybe she would have got it.Or god forbid politlly tell her. While it still might be annoying in a similar situation, when I was practicing it was usually to try new equipment etc.. & it just would not bother me the same. However I do agree in some cases its blantant and obvious that would bother me in either situation & I agree someone would step in before it even became an issue. -
What would your name be if you could have named yourself?
LeslieBre replied to aescutie's topic in General Discussion
I kept naming my pets Heidi and when my dad asked why I said I wish my name was Heidi. My dad said to my mom see I told you. I guess my dad wanted to name me Heidi but my mom wanted to give me an American name because of my dad being American. I always teased her that what she actually gave me was an Irish boys name
