I just had the same problem with Dcu's "Business decision" to backstab some of their most loyal and trustworthy customers. My question is does someone have a credit union they would recommend? I've always loved Dcu but after 10 years they finally decided to screw my by taking my only credit card away. Flawless Credit report and they decide to screw my credit by taking my ability to pay my bills away.

So if any one can offer up some advice or a decent credit union to switch to it would be greatly appreciated. My* email deleted* for those of you who have a lengthy response. Thanks guys.

...AND SOME HERE KEEP ON SPOUTING THEIR MANTRA--->"IT IS JUST BUSINESS"

As if you should not be the SLIGHTEST BIT TICKED OFF about them doing "BUSINESS" on you

Have we determined what the "common thread" with the DCU closures is? Or is there one?

They don't need the business???

They bought the COMPUTER SYSTEM from AMEX (and they forgot to erase one specific program)

sorry about this v. disappointing display.

I app last year and they snatched back a visa preapp- at least they cut me off before I got started.

the good news is that they are 100% replaceable and you may even find a better match for your current situation.

If Rose still works there, there won't be a pattern. It'll depend on a random system of names and dartboards.

They appear to be closing a substantial number of accounts, including folks with above-average credit. I'm curious if it's related to debt/income numbers, utilization or something like that. Hard to say as DCU has always been a bit random.

I switched everything from DCU to NFCU. I was given information about a recon procedure, but basically what they want is for you to send them a letter begging them to give you a hard pull and maybe reinstate your line. I've been trying for a week and nobody will tell me WHAT the negative information is, just that they'd have to see a "substantial change" in the credit report and that takes 6 months. I decided it wasn't worth it and there were other credit unions more than happy to have my business.

I'd been with them for almost 12 years. My family has been with them for over 30. Guess not getting a $2000 account bankrupted was more important to them.

As I've been saying credit unions are not too far behind banks. IMHO, credit unions like Navy FCU won't be as nice as they used to be. I wouldn't be surprised if some banks and credit unions are already using the system that keeps internal record of their own (thanks to three stooges "flaws"), which consumers are not legally able to dispute information.
