I think you guys are on to something here. In January '05 I applied for the Quicken Business Mastercard (underwritten by Citibank), turned down because of a public record from 10 years ago showing on my Experian personal credit report. A week later after seeing that CEOwens was approved for $20k, I applied online for the Citibusiness Mastercard and I too was approved for $20k.

I checked my Experian personal report and found no inquiry. I had assumed that Citibank was using the report they just pulled for Quicken, and I even posted on creditboards wondering why I would have been declined for Quicken and approved directly from Citibank.

Breeze told me to "bite my tongue" when I asked if I should call Citibank and ask them why I would have been approved for one and not the other. Very good advice now that I see why this happened.

My D&B is/was 80. 17 year history and highest credit reporting at the time was $3500.00.

This card and the Amex Corp Card have been the only two majors that have not pulled a personal report.

Pretty much everything has already been said in reply to Diamond but I just wanted to reiterate one thing. The bad credit people thing.

Although there are people on these boards that have GREAT credit, you are correct..there are some folks that don't poor personal credit. You thrown a blanket judgement over all those people with your silly remarks. You don't know their situations. You have no clue why they have 'bad credit'. Maybe it was because of an unfortuante medical situation. My step Dad for instance 2 years ago had PERFECT credit..and I mean PERFECT. Now, after 300k in medical bills for pancreatitis, his credit is ruined.

I know more about credit now than when I was 18 and large corporations were handing me credit cards left and right. I have fought my way back and have educated myself on how to use credit and keep it under control. The fact that I'm here, learning and trying to understand the system should account for something.

People with 'bad credit' feel like they have that scarlet "A" for everyone to see and are never really given a chance until they have removed every last bit of bad history from their reports and even then FICO is still trying to screw us by keeping our scores too low.

Why shouldn't Citi and others consider ONLY my business history! If I was still making 'mistakes', my business report would also reflect that. It doesn't..it's in perfect condition. I have been give over 50k of credit in the past few months and you know how much I have used ???? Uh..1k! That's it.

Ok, that's it...I'm done. :(

Yea! Wohoo! ......Riiiiiiight. I'll be banned from this great board but, I must speak mi mind. Citi will find this sticky and start pulling pg's.  I have known about this great secret for a while now.  Fact is they do pull personal credit.....but........The policy is " ...if the company credit cannot stand on it's own, we will pull personal credit".  I realize this board is about helping others but let me ask this; The fact that you know that a certain company doesn't pull pg and don't share that info with others and yet there are still other small businesses being helped credit wise,  because they just happen to stumble on this particular company, does that constitute you as a bad person.  Or do you share and then you get a stampede of bad personal credit people wohoooing this loophole and then citi finds out and closes the hole, thus shutting the door on no pg applications and bringing in the microscope.  But go ahead, apply your heart away,  this will soon be closed thanks to the wohoooo!!!!.. I know there will be people saying bad things but the fact is that sometimes silence is golden. :yahoo:

My question is WHY ARE YOU HERE????? :(

First you realize this board is about helping people, but obviously you only want to take and not give. Second, you label people you know nothing about :o . Third, if you already have this card, why the heck are you concerned about others obtaining it. Closing a loophole would not affect you. Fourth, Yes silence is golden in your case. So take your own advice before you offend more people with your senseless remarks. B)

Congrats Kev! I was pretty sure you would get that limit based on some of the other CLs you have. Good for you!

Has anyone been brave to ask for an increase on activation?

OK I couldn't resist with all the good news on this board.

I have a good D&B. It is an 80 Paydex Rating of 2R3.

My DNB shows about 5 tradelines, one is a car loan that I PG'd for 20K.

In any event, applied for Citi online. Didn't get instant appvl (30 Day Message) but I called and they said I have a ref # and it went to final stages of underwriting. CSR said they will pull reports and determine if it will be appvd. He said it looked good because I didn't get instant rejection.

CBers Im a nervous wreck. Would be my first Biz CC. What do you think?

I think you will get between $20,000 - $25,000. Maybe more! Would you be happy with that limit? :P

Your $20,000 business auto loan will definitely help you get a higher limit.

I got $4000.00 CL !!!! I am so happy!!! Thank you Jenyphur for stumbling on this and SHARING with Everyone!!! Congrats Kev on the mongo credit line and thanks to everyone that gives back to Credit Boards!!! I feel like Im giving my speech at the oscars!!! If you think about it this thread is the Oscars of all the other tradelines we've done. We finally have what we have been looking for. Anyway have a great Friday night and I'll keep you posted as to what DH gets. Oh one more thing I asked about CLI at activation and the guy said 99% of the time they will pull a personal for a CLI if they didnt pull one originally to approve the card. He said that globally they wouldnt give a CLI unless you had the card six months but they recently changed their underwriting guidlines about six months ago and they are only using biz credit now to qualify people for biz credit, said they will only pull personal credit if have to and they will consider a CLI anytime you request one. So Im very sure I wont be asking for increase until Im not scared of my personal credit being seen. Oh he said they go by D & B report, said nothing about Experian ;)

As I speculated in another thread, is it possible that the stated income listed on our Duns file is in fact playing a role in determing CL with this card? I mean there are people without paydex getting the card for $4k, people with paydex and several trades showing also getting 4-5k and then others getting 20-25k I think it's at least possible that the stated income on the Duns file is a possible determining factor. despite the fact the stated income is hardly a valid figure since, in theory, you can tell Duns whatever number you want. But as this seems to be a fairly laxed card criterea, why not consider the fact the stated company revenue may be playing a part in determining CL?

YEAH!!! For EVERYONE! I have to admit, I'm a bit jealous over the 20k cards though. But honestly....I think for me, this is a good start. I think the 20k is just TOO much temptation for me right now. ;)

Ok..here's another question for you all. Has anyone applied for their mileage card? Or has everyone just gone for the Platinum one?

Personally, I would rather have the mileage card as I travel quite a bit. Maybe I will apply for that in 60 days.

I chose to defer my finacial info on D&B and I got $8000 with Citi.

I have a feeling this program Citi has going where they don't run your personal credit as long as you have established business credit is only on their regular business card. Some of the others here applied for the Quicken card and I applied for the Advantage Business MasterCard back in December. They ran my personal credit report on the Advantage card. Citi only approved me for $5,000 on the Advantage card. My D&B report is pretty much the same as it was in December. Just a few months older!

Got $8K myself.  2 on Ex 2 on DnB no paydex.

are they bigger trades? This isn't making a whole lot of sense frankly. Not only have we discovered they won't run your personal credit unless you have next to nothing reporting.. and we havent really even determined that. has Anyone had their personal credit pulled in relation to this card yet?? We have also determined that they are approving WITHOUT a Paydex. $8k isn't too shabby for no paydex and 2 trades reporting! Way to go!
