The extra credit card on my account? I logged in to check my card. I have one with a $15k limit. And I see two cards ending with different numbers, both with $15k limits for a total of $30k. They had messed up and accidentally sent me a card that was branded with the association that I joined to gain membership and I had called them to tell them of the design I wanted. The woman had mentioned that she wasnt sure how I ended up with that card and would call me back and let me know. A few days later she called to confirm the design and that it was the 2% rewards card. I hadnt been to their site till today and it says I have $30k in limits

XXXX plus.gif VISA PLATINUM $0.00 $14,850.00 XXXX plus.gif VISA PLATINUM $0.00 $15,000.00 Total $0.00 $29,850.00 inner_tab.jpg

I assume this will correct its self?

You could be pro-active and ask them to combine limits.

But if I were you I'd just keep very quiet.

Wait 6 months and if they're both still open, THEN ask to combine! ;)

Give them both some use in the meantime!!!

I'd immediately put one charge on each of them, even if it's just a $0.15 Amazon gift card per account. I would imagine it's a bigger headache for them to close an account with an outstanding balance. :D

when I got 2 cards, I used both of them. a week later, they moved the charges from the duplicate account onto the first account and erased all record of the other. but they didn't add the CLs together, just left the one. it was disappointing to be sure.

Right, but I always assume that there is a slim chance that the person responsible for doing a review of a situation like this hates his/her job and decides it's just not worth the trouble. It might be a 1 in 1,000 shot, but it's always worth a try. There are lots of people with terrible work ethics. Sometimes that's to your benefit. :D

That's still too easy, put several charges on both cards. Make them KNOW you'll use both accounts....

If you manage to keep both, you're probably going to want to combine them in the future.

The reason is that annoying 1.25% cash back on the first 2k per annum. That means dividing your spending evenly between the two cards is going to reduce your cash back by $17.50 every year (I'm assuming they're both 2% cash back cards).

So you'll either want to combine limits or keep spending on one to an absolute minimum (maybe lots of $0.15 - $1 charges just to keep it active).

Yes they both are. I'm going to try to spend both for now to try to keep them. After they have reported a handful of times, if I make it that far, I'll see if they combine them for me

Also are you sure it's 2k annually and not monthly?

I think there is/was conflicting wording on the app/terms/website but if I remember correctly Occam or someone else here actually has the card and verified in a previous thread that it is annually.

Bummer. My new card worked great today. The old card declined. Never had much luck with skipping through the cracks lol

That's a bad sign, QUICK call them to see if you can combine the two accounts. Maybe you'll get lucky! :)

Nasa doesn't combine cl's. They ended up closing the other account so I did not get lucky lol.

Another question I have is regarding an extra tl I have as a result of this. NASA ended up reporting yesterday. They reported both accounts, the one that is active and the original. The original shies the 15k limit and reports as closed/ transferred. My AAOA is already pretty rough as it is. Is it beneficial to me to have the two tl's that report a 15k limit or is the impact on my AAOA more important. Should I try to have the other tl deleted or is it even possible?

Lastly, when doing a balance transfer, is if iterty standard to take a hit on utilization when the tl that took the balance transfer reports the balance and the old account that had the balance originally still reflects the same balance?

Tell NASA you want the mistake TL removed. C1 removed it automatically when I had the similar issue.

Any benefit to leaving it in there? I was at 1 year AAOA before either tl reported and discover still needs to report
