Penfed Fraud Lockdowns. I'm done with this card!

Now that you all are mentioning it, I do have issues 50% of the time logging in to their website. But I'm just using Firefox on a pc. I mostly use the card for the 5% gas reward. Ironically, although I have been traveling a lot, one of the "fraud" cases happened at my local and well used station. The rest were online transactions with big retailers.

I just called in for the 3rd time to re-activate my card in the last 6 months. Every time I call takes up about 10 minutes of my time and to research the purchases I made. Twice, I didn't get the call first and was declined at the POS. Luckily, I always carry backups. These are simple purchases that I regularly make and I don't feel like they should initiate fraud lockdowns every time I want to use the card. Penfed has become a straight up hassle to use. I have 20 or more other cards and never have I had a card shut down until I called in. Most just have a text or email that asks if you did or didn't make the purchase, but at least the card stays open. Anyways, it's getting sockdrawered. Anyone else have this trouble with Penfed?

The Master What Counts as a Consumer Finance Tradeline

You would think this would fall under unfair trade practice as it places a negative and false stigma on certain financing institutions causing borrowers to steer away from them for unjust reasons. They should be driven to or away from these lenders by their terms alone, not by FICO's opinion of them. Remember when Amex thought you were scum for using their cards at Walmart? -

Warning: Setting new Walmart card account on Cap One

I've had no trouble with Sync and CLI's. They are all maxed at $25-35k. But this new Crap1 thing is making me just as sick to my stomach as walking into an actual Walmart.😝 -

I just searched and only saw a handful of people getting this recently. So I'm not sure if Target is sending these out to a wave of people or not. I've had the card since 2009 with a $1k limit. Never really used it much except to keep it open. My last purchase in a year was their caramel popcorn. I highly recommend giving it a try. lol What was strange is that last month they sent out a letter increasing my limit from $1k to $1.6k. Then about 3 weeks later they sent me the upgrade to the creditcard (don't recall which product), and a limit increase to $6k.

America’s Fastest-Growing Credit Card Is Also Its Least Favorite

I tried clicking but got blocked for malware. Even my computer knows that card is a disease. -
I seem to recall once that Amex was a jealous whore. I'm wondering if Chase is starting to want monogamy as well.

Got my "semi-denial" letter for my CLI I requested. I say that because I had a $4,500 initial CL on my Amazon, and 7 months later I requested $25k. I got the 7-10day message, but they called me the next day and countered with $10k. I just got a letter in the mail stating they were sorry they couldn't approve the full amount because: Insufficient utilization of current credit line. You have too many active accounts or too much available credit. They scored me at 805. Over the past 7 months, I've run up the total credit line to 30% once or twice, and used the card for Amazon purchase quite extensively. So much so that I've had balances reported because I was using it almost every day and couldn't get it paid to 0 fast enough. I'm not sure how much they want me to run up the CL to satisfy the first comment. However, the second excuse was amusing..........

Admittedly, for most people, they likely are not coming close to spending $3K annually on gas, so the difference between capped and uncapped is a moot point. I suspect I am an outlier with an average expenditure of $300-$500 per month on gas. I DECIDED TO TRACK MY FUEL SPENDING IN 2018 AND THUS FAR WE'VE SPENT JUST ABOUT $530. THIS INCLUDES SOME $8 A GALLON 100 OCTANE. quarter mile at a time or 100LL for a single-engine? JUST GETTING HIGH COMPRESSION TO PRODUCE MORE... NO RACING. Perhaps convert to ethanol so you can get 105 octane at only $2.80-ish/gal? It's not hard to convert. I LIKE ORIGINAL NOT RESTOMOD YOU CAN MESS AROUND WITH HIGH COMPRESSION AND ADD RACE FUEL, BUT ADD MORE ETHANOL TO STANDARD PUMP GAS AND ALL THE SUDDEN IT'S "RESTOMOD"? Remember that, in the days before the unleaded crap was foisted upon the public, high octane was simply one of the options at the pump. Nowadays, you practically have to go to your local airport's FBO to get 100LL. There was a time where that was simply 'gas' and not 'race fuel' (and was under 40 cents a gallon). Yup, I recall seeing that near the end. Even Sonoco had 100 octane I believe until recently. However, these days you can easily convert to E85 to get 105 octane simply by oversizing your injectors by 30%, or increasing your pulsewidth if you have that capability. Most modern ECU's don't even recognize the fuel difference and simply advance the timing map to its full potential.
