I just called Dillard's. They upgraded me to the Dillard's AMEX. Said I would recieve card in 7-10 days, and my store card is still valid. THey did a new application........not sure if it pulled a hard or not. I have only had the card for 4 months. (Just did the CLI button to 10400.00 from a 150.00 limit)

New AMEX will be 5000.00 starting limit. Hope the LUV Button works on that one too.

Did you use this card a lot in those 4 months?
If so, PIF or leave balance?

CONGRATS!!!

You said, though, this is an "upgrade," but if you are keeping your existing Dillards account, isn't this just a new app and account, which would equal a hard?

I believe GEMB is only upgrading existing cardholders as of now. The Dillards Amex deal was just done. I am not sure if they use an internal score or actually pull a new report tho. It would follow the same lines as jcpenney to jcpenney rewards mc. Not yet available to general public, but should be soon. Same w/ Sam's and Walmart Discover also that has been done after the upgrade to existing and has been available to public.

I guess i will be making a payment tommorow

then i'll be calling Dillard's if it was that easy for you

Dillards (since jan '97) is one of my oldest accounts with perfect payment history

they better not treat me like Target!

I am so pleased to be informing you that you have won the lottery in the republic of Ass-wenistan. You won a great abundance and magnitude of money. All I need to transact this transaction is small processing fee to be required; Simply cash this check a portion of your winnings and pay the fee, then I will effect payment swiftly!

just as the "offshore" rep told previous poster, they are upgrading some existing cardholders. It will be an option for public apps soon. You may be able to apply for it new at the store. But Dillards customers that are existing cannot call up and upgrade. Ge is only doing that with some right now internally. Dillards cards will not disappear. They are now in process of rolling out the cobrand Dillards Amex. (Still revolving- believe it or not.)

This may be a dumb question, but if you are blacklisted from amex for a CO, would you be blacklisted from getting the Dillard's amex as well?

NO. Amex cards from other issuers are not subject to the Amex blacklist.
