All the AU accounts on my Primary Cardholder accounts got shut down.

Many of the AUs who had their own AmExes by then, got those shut down too.

I'm confused?... Is this a list of who reports AU's and who doesnt?

No, this is just a list of issuers who ask for the SSNs of AUs

IF Chase reports (example). How do they report to your file if they don't even know your ssn?

Posted

They don't need your SSN to report.

Each bureau uses different algorithms to match identity, sometimes there are errors.

wow, that's very interesting. If an error occurs and nothing posts, do you call the cc company or the cra's?

Since spousal AUs are supposed to report,

having the same address helps,

having the same last name doubly helps.

what if it's neither? what's the best way for me to show I live with that person? and how would they "algorithm" that one?

That's why most of my CB AUs haven't seen their cards report.

BofA and CapOne report my CB AU with different names & addresses.

Hi again Bob,

I noticed you have marked HSBC conversion cards to Cap One as reporting. My experience from a few months ago was that they were not taking SSN for GM Card, Household Bank, or Best Buy cards.

Have you had recent success with calling in and them attaching SSN?

Thanks

I don't have any of those cards,

erroneously assumed CapOne would treat them the same.

I'll move them to the DON'T ASK group.

Thanks!

Ah bummer.

I received a letter regarding the Cap One conversion cards and am keeping my fingers crossed that sometime this summer the internal systems will be changed finally to Cap One.

Bob,

Any word on FIA? Specifically Fidelity amex card?

I'm pretty sure FIA reports the same as BofA.

IOW, my BofA AUs see my card reporting on their reports.

Capital One that my fellow graduate added me on in 2006 right before I purchased my first home. Took about 2 cycles to show up for me. Once I got the house and my first car, I told him he could go ahead and remove it right after i applied for a secured card. He had to fax documentation to get removed..

it didnt come off for about 2-3 cycles however. I definitely agree that not only will the dispute probably speed up that process without a doubt, but just wanted to throw out there that most simply fall off with a little patience. It was actually a matter of disagreement between someone I referred to a tradeline dealer that used to operate here in downtown Atlanta. The guy i referred was upset because he felt that if he paid for the tradeline, it should remain forever. Especially since it was not like he was accessing the account.

But the reason he declined to deal at $1500 per tradeline was because it was explicitly disclosed that they only guaranteed the tradeline to be there for 90 days..

it could linger a little longer but once removed by Owner, it would be in the cycle to disappear as a whole. I tried to pose the argument at that time that why wouldnt it just stay there with a lack of updates, meaning just no more reported payments after being removed. Kind of like when you close an account with a creditor and it still remains, but i guess the off switch (removal) was just as automatic as the on switch (adding) when it came to the whole thing leaving as the whole thing appeared.

Research... nothing so deep as to prepare for a battle in court....lol... but i was just lurking through a couple google searches while helping one of my church fellows with repair to see where the "piggybacking" concept's place is in the 2013 credit card era. Seems to still be alive while many are fighting its legitimacy.. but hey..how long has that been going on right? lol.. Florida seems to be the most adamate at getting something turned against this.

Bob - for chase and discover does "reports aus at same address" mean that those banks will only report these credit lines if your addresses match, or that it adds your address to their credit report but still reports?

Also for chase and discover - do you know if it reports the original date you opened the account or the date that you added the AUs?
