No, this is just a list of issuers who ask for the SSNs of AUs

Hi,

I can also confirm that, GEMB (Dillards Amex), Discover (Discover More) and Chase (Chase Disney) all add AUs without asking for the SS#. They also report to all 3 CBs and none of the AUs live with me.

I plan to add someone to my USAA Amex tomorrow and will report back if they require an SS#. For some reason they are not allowing me to do it online, I have to call in tomorrow to add someone.

BTW, hi Bob! Is AMEX now only asking for SS#s or are they still asking for the SS# and a copy of the SS card? Have they eased up a bit? I sure hope so. :)

I think the SSN card was unique to me.

I haven't heard of that being requested of anybody else. :P

Well, they did request mine on one of my applications for my own card, but, you know...

Unfortunately, that was probably guilt by association. ;)

Or it could have been me that sunk the whole battleship.

How about one where you can set AU limits and track their spending seperately. I know Amex lets you do that but I'm not gonna spend $250 for the priviledge.

Unless I have to.

AmEx lets you do that with the no annual fee credit cards too. :D

Does Citi let you do that as well? I see they have req SS#s. I'm probably going change my unsecured card to something with rewards before the AF kicks in. My cards are in backwardation. The one with the highest CL, 25k, has no rewards and a $29 AF. My WF is at 12k, no AF but no rewards either. My Chase Freedom Siggy is 7k, no AF, and has decent rewards. Amex Plat is just a charge card. Who knows what they will let me put on it.

I'll make BofA a question mark, then.

I know that my latest experiment has seen it on her report, but she lives here. ;)

do you know if this works if the AU has no other credit records with my same address? (the AU does really live with me)

also will BOA backdate previous information on the AU's report or will it just report it as a new opened account as of the day the AU is added? Thanks!

It really helps to have the same address.

Adding a 12 year old line bumped her AAOA from 1 account of 0.5 years to 2 accounts of 6 years. :D

As a follow-up to yesterday's post, USAA required the SS#, DOB and Relationship. They did it over the phone. The part that surprised me was that they also made the AU a USAA Member. They said to add someone as an AU they had to be a member or be willing to become one. :)
