I was thinking about doing an allocation, I have a Sapphire with a 10k CL. The saphhire is only a couple months old so it might help my AAOA if its closed? Then I was thinking Chase might be more skittish with me having a 25k line, but I guess whats the difference if I have a 15k Pd and a 10k CL Sapphire right?

Thanks

the issue might be the multiple of the flexible spending on the Pd card. 25K limit is 75K in spending. I am looking at reallocating 25K onto Pd which might be a stretch since that doubles my monthly spending to 150K.

Thanks Heg!

I'm guessing I would need to call during normal business hours to get to the underwriting people for the reallocation?

the Pd CSRs are 24/7/365.25 but the Chase folks might not be. I would wait until normal office hours but yah never know until you try :)

Sent in app for Palladium card yesterday. Checked with them and got approved with 30k limit!!! My buddy who was showing off his card a couple months before does have 30M+ with JP Morgan and is going to be pissed that I got this card too. I do have one question: If they approved with 30k limit, does that mean I can exceed that 3 to 1 (ie 90k) with their flexible limits program or does it mean I can go to 30k with the flexible limits?

crash - yes but it has to be paid under your limit by next billing cycle

Cool. But does the 30k it says my credit line is mean I have 90k available? Or does it mean I have 10k avaible with max of 30k?

careful, details on a public forum are not good.

log into your account via the website, whatever the credit limit shows is your hard limit. The program offers a flex limit of three times that hard limit to be paid off by the next billing cycle or bad things will happen. The flex program can be revoked for many reasons but generally if you present unreasonable risk by doing one of a thousand things with your account.... careful, no one should be spending 90k on a credit card... thats insane... unless your the 1%... in that case go for it mr wall street

Haahaa. I am putting a bunch of business expenses on my cards so possible for me to go beyond my limit. Thanks for the help.

I am some what confused. My limit is $40k on my PD card. Are you saying that I can charge up to $120k per month? I assume I would need to pay at least $80 k off before payment is due. ???

chrono - pull out your weight lifting heavy card from your wallet that has only 100 dollar bills in it. call the special number on the back, the US number, and a person will answer within 10 seconds. ask them about the spending flex limit for your account as each person's account is different and what it has the ability to do.

... or melt the card and get $1120 in precious metals and call it a day rofl.gif

the general guideline is 3x spending ability but I was told some people have more and some have less.

Just got the card! Very nice. It looks like they pulled TU at least. I'll check later for other CBs. I am a bit curious how you get Priority Pass set up. Also, does the 2X points for travel include hotel reservations?

I'm not sure about the hotel reservation, but for the priority pass you should get it in the mail in a few weeks. I had call the customer service people asking the same question when I got my card, and they said if I didn't get the priority pass card in a few weeks I should call back. Till then, if I traveled and needed lounge access, I could pay the day fee and I would get reimbursed for it.

My Priority Pass card got mailed to me USPS a week or so after receiving the JPM cards via UPS. I didn't have to request it.

It's those little things that will set this product apart. I called and asked for plastic backups, and the best part was that all I had to say was my last name and last 4digits of the card. I wasn't subjected to the security BS that most card issuers put me through. On and off phone in probably 30 seconds.

same here; and be sure to read the cover letter to see why the Pd PP membership is way better than the Amex Platinum PP membership...

Hmmm. Interesting. I didn't even read it. Just tucked it away in the files since I already have a PP membership through Amex Plat. I'll have to dig it up.

The main reason it is better: never a charge for guests whereas amex plat PP membership results in a $27 per guest per visit fee.

Ah, makes sense. My wife has a PP card with her amex so I guess I never noticed that we were both signing in. Now we just need a little CO/UA lounge love, especially for those of us that travel out of EWR often.

PD card concierge versus Amex Platinum travel...

PD card:

call 800 number

answered on fourth ring

asked how I could be helped

described plans for a holiday...basically open-ended for the destination we picked

asked a few details about what we want (biz class versus econ. class airfare, etc)

asked if it would be okay for them to get back to me by Monday

only thing needing to verify was my email address for sending the results of the concierge's work. never had to enter account number, ssn, etc.

time: about 6 minutes

Amex Plat Travel:

call the main platinum number

answered by computer system after one ring

say "travel" to get to travel

press #3

agent answered

describe to agent what we want; opened-ended for the destination we picked

never asked any details about fare class, airport (he assumed we would fly out of LAX instead of LAS), etc.

agent tried search prices while I was on the phone; so I got to listen to the agent ruminate and press keys

agent concludes he'll need to get back to me and asked for my email address

agent then asks for my full card number and phone number

time: 12 minutes

I can't wait to see what comes by email...

it struck me that the difference here is Pd is using Circles while Amex travel is, well, Amex Travel agency. Amex concierge might be run by circles, but it does not seem the travel is run my circles.

I hear they will authorize charges for visits to UA/Continental lounges to be paid by JP Morgan. I know of one person who had their UA lounge year pass paid for. Pretty sure my buddy had it paid for after he showed a bunch of charges to UA lounges. Not sure if you need to authorize in advance or not on the solo visits.

thanks for the info. I'll have to give it a try.

FWIW, your Pd card results there pretty much mirror whenever I used to call Sapphire, and now when I call Select, though my requests aren't travel-based typically.
