Update. The derog on Equifax which was due to fall off on 5/2023, came off early. I checked today, and it is gone. My brother has one more negative acct that's due to fall off June 2024. Will do the next set of disbutes starting in Dec 2023. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk

@marvbear Figured you would like an update I sent a message this morning to one of the sales staff we spoke to last week. This was his response, "We use Equifax, but we can use Experian if you finance through Hyundai." Equifax is my middle score, so I'm sitting pretty good there. Transunion is a different story! Here's my experience with getting derogs removed earlier than the reported removal date. TU will remove 6 months early. EX will remove 2 -3 months early. EQ rarely removes early. Create an online dispute within the time frames above. Your reason for the dispute is, "This account is too old to be reporting." I just did a dispute for my brother. Thank you! You definitely answered my question. Equifax just happens to be my middle score, 682. I was hoping the dealers in my area (Va Beach, Va) would pull Experian as that's my highest, 711. I'll be ready to buy in 2 months. Hope to increase scores by then. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk

Unless things have changed, NFCU is very lenient in granting their unsecured card. When I rcvd mine back in 2017, my scores were around 620 and they gave me a $15k limit. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk

Well TU online disputes still work instantly if within 6 months. Did an online dispute for my brother just now. It was due to fall off in May. 8:46PM - Received email that dispute was received and investigation is progress 8:46PM - Received email that dispute investigation was completed. I was able to get EQ and TU to delete 3 months and 6 months respectively before the removal date. Both I did by online disputes stating that, "these accounts are obsolete." Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk

I had 2 Portfolio collections on my report and on both occassions they settled for a lesser amount. I negotiated with them over the phone and they were very cooperative and pleasant to deal with.
