Your calculations also assume that you will max out the gas reward with every fill up. Do you really get 30 gallons of fuel every time? Yes I do. 15 gallons into the car and 3 5 gallon cans or 20 gallons into the truck and 2 cans. Gas at the station that my fuel points are good at, is at least $0.30-40 more per gallon than Costco, so even with the fuel points, it's still a net loss for me. Aww that sucks. Luckily for us they are among the cheaper ones. Costco is slightly lower but costco is about 20 miles away so we don't go often. Problem with them is there is some discussion about the quality of the gas.

So my other question. Someone mentioned going to an estanblsihemebt and buying GC and getting the cash at the cage. Does anyone do that? My worry is that they may generate a SAR. Same with the bank, if you are depositing cash and money orders for $2-$5 k regularly wouldn't that possibly generate a SAR in fear of structuring?

My grocery store only counts retail GCs towards fuel points. You're also talking about $5.95 + 2.5%, or a total of 3.6%. Those numbers don't work for me. Same here. At Kroger, the Fuel Points only accumulate on retail gift cards and fixed-value Visa/MC, of which they only seem to carry $25 and $100 denominations. Also, I am not sure your process makes sense. I start with a card that has a $0 balance. I charge $500 plus the $5.95 fee at my grocery. I receive $10.12 in cash back from my CC. So far, we are good. But then you use the same card on Plastiq to pay it off. If I had a balance of $505.95 on the card, and I paid that off using the same card on Plastiq, I now have a balance on the card of $518.60. So in addition to the numbers losing money, the process fails as well. Yes normally that is the case but in the last month and I believe until xmas the visa cards are included in fuel perks. It is true that they only have them up to $100 so maybe a tad bit more work but I was thiking of running 20k through since I would never be able to use that many fuel perks. $100+5.95 (5.95 counts towards perks too) Receive $12 in gas (.20 per $50 up to 30 gallons) Receive $2.12 cash back. I believe I could use my 5% grocery card too as it would be coded a grocery purchase. Pay $2.65 to plastiq Profit of $11.47 per $105.95 spent We were planning on buying $600 of various cards for black friday shopping. I believe I could buy 6 VCF and turn around and use those to buy 600 in gift cards and effectively get $.30 per 50 on fuel after 5.95 fee. I think the amount of scam companies shows how many people send money. I think the amount of scam companies shows how many people send money. -

I always forget about these deals. Just logged in and activated 10% cell phone bill and $5 off $25 at petco. Was buying dogfood there today already so it was good timing.

MS is new to me but couldn't I take a card with say 2% cash back, buy $500 VCF at local grocery store which gives fuel perks. Right now you get $6 back on 30 gallons for every $50 so that 12% then use that card on Plastiq for 2.5% to just pay for that card. Sure it us wasting the plastiq fee bUT at least you don't have to deal with cashiers and MO.

Hey Debbie downer ;-) But to answer your question. I would not have paid those rates but all trips were going to happen so I would have at least paid 80 or so each night. However in Niagara we would have been well away from the falls so it is nice to get the benefit of being on the falls. I can't think of any Niagara Falls hotel worth $1200 a week...$1200 a night is crazy. But I'm glad you're getting value out of SPG. 1200 for 3 nights. It is 339 a night plus the crazy canadieu taxes. There is 60 in taxes per night. I hope we don't have to pay those.

I have not been as good with rewards cards as some of you but a few months ago I opened an AMEX SPG with 25k bonus points. After my spend I ended up with 28600 points. I figured it would be good for a few nights. I was shocked at what I have been able to book with it so far. We have our entire summer planned with using their points. We are goinf to Niagara Ontario memorial day weekend for 3 days sat, sun, aND Monday night. We also have another trip planned to Minneapolis for 2 nights to visit mall of america on a saturday and sunday. We are staying locally for a wedding for 1 night on a Saturday night. Lastly we have a trip planned to Toronto for 2 nights on a Friday and Saturday. All rooms are at 4 points by sharaton.we have elected at a little lesser of hotel for more nights. Here is a breakdown of costs. Niagara 11k points, rack rate $1200 Minneapolis 6k points rack rate $380 Local 3k points, rack rate $249 Toronto 6k points, rack rate $420 So because of this card we have booked 8 nights at a total savings of $2250. I can't imagine there being a better rewards cars out there. If there is I am really missing out.

He is 4. I understand there are plans specific to areas but my understanding is that ERs must accept Medicaid. Out of state medicaid will pay for services at ERs and hospitals must accept that as full payment. They did receive payment so the issue isn't whether our insurance will pay, it is whether it should be considered full payment.

Hopefully someone here can help but this may get a little long. My son has UPMC for You which is PA Medical assitance. Last summer my wife went to the beach with her parents and our son. On the 2nd day she called me and said he had a high fever and coughing. She wasn't sure what to do as far as where to go. I called the insurance company and asked where we could go out of state. I was informed that the only place you can go is the ER and it would be covered. I call my wife and tell her that she can go to the ER and it is covered or she could go to a med express type place and it will cost about $100. She ended Up going to the ER and there was no wait and she got seen right away. They did some tests and xrays. He ended up having bronchiolitis. They kept him for half a day and released him. 2 months later we get a bill for $1600. I called the insurance and was told they paid for the service so there should be no bill. I called the hospital and they said they are out of network so we are responsible for the difference between the paid amount and the billed amount. I called the insurance company back and told me that since it is medicaid the hospital has to accept payment in full. The rep at the insurance company called the hospital to find out why they are not accepting it as payment in full. The rep called me back and said the hospital should be writing it off now. A few months go by and no bill. In Jan we received another bill so I started all the phone calls again. Fast forward to yesterday and I received a bill from the hospital again but this time it says it will be sent to collections if we dont pay. I don't know all the rules and regs of medicaid but is the insurance rep correct in telling me that I should not be getting billed? If so what should I do to prevent this from going to collections. I was going to send a certified letter threatening action if it goes to collections but I don't want to do that if they actually have the right to send it.
