I do have one question. How do I find the forum/board that got their emails comprised. I am subscribed to a lot of forums. Anyone know?

Creditboards is safe. I use a different email address for them.

I receive spoof emails everyday. And it is very much a spoof email, no doubt. Did you report that to BOA's spoof email department?

If I understand your question correctly, you're asking how you're able to find out if the email you used for a forum/board is compromised? I am not actually sure of the question, sorry.

Here is what I meant.

By process of elimination. I am trying to figure out how my secondary isp email got compromised. I know it is not credit boards because subscriptions go to my main email address.

At least, I can change that secondary isp email.

What are you trying to do???

Track it back to the source or something???

Just forward a copy to BofA (or not) and if you can block it with a SPAM BLOCKER LIKE I HAVE WITH AOL...DO IT

I don't get a ton of SPAM...but I still get some

...and very little phishing

George thank you for reminding me why I don't post anymore.

I am back out of here

When people can't understand plan English it is time for me to leave.

I don't know if I will read anymore either. I really don't know if I can trust CB information anymore.

Unsubscribing.

At least, I said my goodbye to hurricanesfans27. That the only one, I think who really understood me and my postings. I will miss him.

All it takes is an infected computer at the recipient's end, anyone you've sent email to using that address. It's nearly impossible to figure out where the leak was (I've tried). Easier to just stop using that address and get another throwaway email.

Sometimes the address isn't even compromised, they just keep assembling addresses out of the dictionary, some of them hit.

Aaron@ gmail.com Aaron1@ gmail.com and so on, right down the line, thousands at a time.

I have a Gmail account that I use only for storage, I've never sent email from it, never posted the address anywhere. Took about a month and the spam started anyway.

I gave up worrying about spam and phishing. I just delete it and use a spam/phishing add-on.

why do you think your ISP is compromised? spammers and phishers use computer generated email addresses so even if your email address has never been used, posted anywhere, etc. you can receive spam.

Scammers are very good at getting information without you knowing it. They have programs to do that and send spam emails to everyone. But at least it wasn't your mail email address. So be careful now, with everything you're accessing or clicking. You never know.
