Can you clarify? What's the cost and what does it get you?

It's $12.25 per month, and is basically CCT without the pretty fonts and colors. You can pull all 3 CRAs daily. If you're a USAA member, go to their webpage, click on "Products and Services", under Banking, click "CreditCheck Monitoring", sign in with your PIN and sign up. Premium is right there in the listing. :P

:P I knew you'd like this development. They must have just changed the terms. I messaged BW about it...knowing he'd want to be all over this ASAP.

Are you non military? Because I was turned down and I thought it was because I am non military. What gives?

Go back and try now. I just did. I am a red-headed step child (non-military). This appears to be all that's changed in my offerings....still no Amex offering..., but didn't check anything else besides that.

I am still only a basic member, got this:

Looks like they need more info, so I can't access it until they send me a letter. Hopefully snail mail doesn't fail me :P

Bummer. :D Hang in there...you'll be able to sign up, because I think we're getting a legit offering here. Particularly because my other restrictions are still in effect (just checked insurance...no go).

So they opened it to all now? Well, I guess the topic I started applies to all now.

And I thank you immensely for that topic, dmdusn. If not for your postings, I would not have checked this today. :P

You are welcome. I thought I had posted the wrong info, getting everyone excited, and then it turning out to be a military only thing. So what do I win for finding a brand new daily puller?

Thanks to both of you for letting us know about this. I went in and joined just now and I already viewed my CRs.

Okay, can someone tell me how to qualify for this? If it's open to non-military now, does it mean I can just open a checking account or credit card to get in?

Thanks

If you are non military and do not have a CC or account with them I don't think you can do so now. This is only for credit monitoring for people who are already members and have accounts with them.

I am assuming you are currently not a member of USAA correct? In order to become a member of USAA you have to be military affiliated (active duty, reserve, spouse, family member). You can not just join USAA out of the blue if you don't fall into one of these categories (I am sure I left a few out, DOD civilian maybe). I am not quite sure from your post here, and the previous ones in the topic I started if you are actually asking about USAA membership, or just the Credit Check Monitoring.

So what happened, did someone call a CSR, and all of a sudden they let all USAA members join this. Maybe it was part of the rollout (since it just started 2 days ago) someone forgot to let everyone get it. who knows. Congrats everyone on getting it.

Easy on the red heads. Yesterday was kick a ginger day, and I had a rough time fighting them off.

USAA limited membership is actually open again to non-military, Lorcan. It was reopened to non-military sometime late 2008/early 2009. :D

You can sign up for a checking/savings account, and get a non-rewards MasterCard if you wish, along with other banking products, such as the credit monitoring service. I joined in Feb 2009.

ChristiL, just go to their website and sign up or call them and they'll walk you through the process. It's a soft pull for membership, most likely on EQ, and they'll also check Chexsystems as well during the process.

I am wondering the same thing. How did it get changed? I did notice that when I clicked on it yesterday it said Credit Monitoring or something like that. Today it says Credit Check Monitoring which indicates to me that they have finalized it today.

Dmdusn, everyone's eligible to join USAA again, on at least a limited membership basis, as I replied in my prior post. It's been reopened to everyone in some capacity for almost a year. I didn't realize you and Lorcan (and others) didn't know about this change. I guess it hasn't received much publicity. Hope this clears it up. :D
