  1. Same here. No baddies, and was 705 EX FICO last time I applied (obviously, that was back when you could still get your EX FICO). Wasted a total of 2 inquiries on them over the years, and I'll never try again. Other businesses have been MUCH better to me.
  2. I did and was DENIED. They pulled EQ which was 697 FICO. No baddies, but just around 3 years history. I was denied for: New accounts (3 in the last 6 months) Inquiries (4 on EQ, 2 of them almost 2 years old) Low limits (lowest is $1000, highest $8,500.) I didn't know SeaMiles was supposed to be a prime card!
  3. these cards are excellent for lowering credit utilization, so the trick is to buy something and pay it in full before the statement cuts (to avoid paying interest). Once you make a purchase or two, you can throw the card into storage and let the accounts age I bought something recently and they had a 90-day no interest option for paying.
  4. I've read around here that the EQ products WILL cause C. The only exception might be Score Watch -- it seems to chop some, but not others.
  5. I was worried about this with all of the "new features" messages that were popping up on their site. I wonder if the changes were made to cut-off our daily access, or if they are just using a different company to pull reports? Either way, I can see them losing a lot of business.
  6. Luckily, it was only a day between the account opening and the fraud alert. I had been using CCT and MCK trying to get B, so I spotted the fraudulent inquiry the same day. Between the 2 services I had about 80 soft pulls, so I was close to finally getting some B on EQ. I hadn't been getting chopped before the FA - I'm just hoping that it's not a regular occurrence. I'm kind of thinking that it might be, though, because I guessed they noticed all my soft pulls.
  7. Someone stole my identity and opened up a Wachovia checking account last week. I placed fraud alerts on all my reports until I could get them frozen. EQ gave me another free copy because of the ID theft thing, and all my softs from MCK and CCT are GONE. Did they chop me because of the fraud alert? If so, do you think I will continue to get chopped? I definitely wasn't getting chopped before. Thanks!
  8. Did you dispute it with the CRA? Yup. I am gonna have to send Sears a letter. The thing is the account was brought current prior to it being closed by Sears due to lates, so if they'd GW the lates off, it would be a good account to keep. Alternatively, just getting it totally off my report will help. For DH though, I am gonna have to hope they respond to a GW letter, as the account is legitimately his. If Sears lists you as an AU on the account on your credit report, you can just dispute with the CRA's and they will remove it. You don't have to go through Sears. I've done it and i

  10. My FirstUSA inquiry was from the Chase Amazon card. But make sure you check soon -- I had an unknown inquiry (Wachovia Bank) in the last few days and it turned out to be identity theft!
