this could be very rewarding considering I'm in the DSW store at least twice a week

You buy a pair of new shoes twice a week?
At least. I also have 5 children. It's not always a new pair for me.

They also sell socks, purses, belts. I'm a clearance rack addict.

2 pairs of shoes x 52 weeks = 104 pairs of shoes per year.

Divide that by six people, and you're each averaging more than 17 pairs a year.

Imelda Marcos, is that you?????

Doesnt EVERYONE own more than 17 pairs of shoes??

Interesting rewards program ... 10 points per $1 in dsw (reg price) + 2 points per $1 outside ... 1500 points = certificate(they don't say how much?). Plus $5 every month you shop at a dsw. If you're shoe crazy and/or have kids, could be interesting!

1500 points = $10 off next purchase cert....

$50 pair of shoes, if used the DSW card= 500 points...and thats on regular points...they often have double point periods....

the only downsiode I see so far is, I hardly EVER buy shoes at full price.... which means my purchases would likely only get the 2 points per $1.... unless someone can tell me otherwise

That's not a total of seventeen pair of shoes owned, unless you toss one every time you buy a new one. That would be an additional 17 pairs of shoes per person, per year. Over three years that's more than 50 pairs of NEW shoes, assuming no attrition.

So each point is worth about $.007.

Maybe the numbers could work for some people, but if you want cash back, a 2% cash back card is going to be much better. Even Amex MR points or Chase UR points if you travel come out ahead in value. If this is included in the Freedom 5% category this Q, each dollar would net a minimum value of $.105, potentially more than double that.

I definitely buy 50 pairs of shoes every year for just myself. My 2 minor boys get a pair or so of sneakers every month. I buy for my legal aged kids as well.

I "downsize" every other season or so

Doesn't everyone? I don't think I have 2 pairs of shoes over 2 years old

Actually since the good rewards only come with shoes purchased at full price, the rewards for me would stink. 95% of EVERYTHING I purchase is on sale. I'd even say 75% is from the clearance rack

I still may get the card one day despite....

Oh no Tee, you're not weird. A few of us guys have a thing for shoes as well. I don't just have shoes at my home...but also in my vehicles, my office.... etc. Well, you get the picture.

I think your shoes to toasters ratio is off.
