My co-worker received her letter yesterday from Citi (Shell). Her account was shut down earlier in the week without warning and she discovered it when pumping gas and card would not authorize. She called Citi (Shell) and asked why and was told her account was closed and she would be receiving a letter, but was based on something they found on Equifax.

 

The letter reported that based upon reporting from Equifax she had "insufficient length of history". Odd, she opened the account in 2007 and wasn't insufficient then. She had their card 2 years, and claims her oldest cc account dates back to 1997.

I just checked my ExxonMobil MC is still open. It was showing CLI button. I didn't click it because I was afraid they might close my account. Not this time!!!

May wanna try to use it. Many claim that if they login looks just like while it was open.

I guess that is better than the rate jack to 24.99% I got from a Shell MC.

 

Luckily, it's just sock drawered and I pif every month, but it's sort of funny to see them state that "Due to business being bad we need to charge more interest".... ;-)

I should add, I don't think I've used the card since it was issued, so them rate jacking to 1000% and leaving it open is better than closing it. ;-) Zero % utilization and all.
