Here is the Advanced Search

http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?act=Search

Example, if you are looking for a 1-2 Punch thread, type it in as "1-2 Punch" (in Quotations) so it doesnt get scattered out.

Also, you can choose it to be in the Topic (Show results as Topics)

You also can narrow down which forums you want. I chose ONLY the credit forum.

Here is an example of what you can find doing it this way (22 Pages of Topics):

http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?a...1-2+Punch\

Hope it helps! Anyone who knows other tips and tricks, jump in.

This thread is to learn how to use the search function better.

This should help out a lot...soon we won't have any new topics that are old, LOL!

Also, you can always use the google trick of adding the "+" symbol to widen search result.

Lord no. My wouldn't sit that still for that long. Although i did think about cutting a lime and trying it, lol.

But i'd rather keep my hands the way they are..

another way to search.

open google

type:

"1-2 punch" site:creditboards.com

your result will look like this:

http://www.google.com/search?q=%221-2+punc...lient=firefox-a

+1

This is how I always do searches, even for other forums. Takes out the "mentally slow" middle man which is the search feature on most boards, including this one.

just depends, sometimes I like the CBs sort "by # of replies" feature. Because it's the most active threads (not always) that seems to have good information.

but if I'm looking for specific information, then I find google does a better job.

it's good to know how to do both to get the results you need.

I had a question if in some cases it was ok to fax than have to mail. How many people faxed instead of mailing? What was ok to fax and what was better to mail.

I done a search +fax +mail and done a it with a "search titles only". I have searched several different ways using "fax vs mail" and I still dont come up with much of anything.

Any certain way or tricks to search for topics about fax vs mail?

there is a link in my profile that might help.

I found this link by putting the following into google:

http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=206652

"cmrr fax dispute site:creditboards.com"

The reason I put CMRR instead of mail, is that usually when people are asking about disputes, it is said over and over again to send CMRR, so I was taking a chance that term would be more specific than "mail"

HTH~
