Got a pre-approved app today. It states a guaranteed min CL on it. 11 month BT offer. Rates not bad but doesn't matter as I PIF.

 

Don't see any special rewards or anything just a paragraph about Access to AMEX Travel Service Locations and access to emergency funds(?).

 

Anybody got it? Go for it? Run away fast?

 

My main reason to get it would probably be just to add another decent limit line.

I got the card in early Sep. Nothing special about it really, though it is my highest limit to date. Would be nice if they'd report to the CRA's.

I got $1500. I think thats pretty much in line with what most were getting when it first came out.

I got $1500. I think thats pretty much in line with what most were getting when it first came out.

A possible alternative: Dillards American Express

 

A family member applied for this and started out at $3k or $ 4k.

Maybe about a year later just from regular use received an automatic CLI of $1.5k or $2k along with some BT checks that, surprisingly, seemed to have really good terms (this was a little while ago, but if I recall correctly: fee cap at $ 75 and BT rate good for the life of the balance)

Plus you earn 2 points for every dollar spent inside Dillards

 

I don't remember what kind of limits other people have gotten since there has been little discussion on this card.

Hear alot from people about Dillards on here and people always have good things to say. I never heard of them. They in the South or West or something? I'm in the Northeast area and none to be found. Course prior to 1998 I always wondered about those WalMart commercials cause there weren't any around here prior to that.

watch out for GEMB; they denied me the dillards amex because my phone number is not listed on the EQ credit report. GEMB fools told me the only option was to ask EQ to report my phone number and then reapply.

I don't think they have all the kinks worked out of their system yet. Trust me, I have PLENTY of references. Including some mortgage and HELOC accounts that date back several years.
