  1. I wanted to add my nickel on this topic about NACA. They lost LOST LOST my paperwork, had it in the wrong section for over 5 months concerning my foreclosure. They lost our paperwork 3 times and said that it was our servicer who was not responding. They told me not to talk to my servicer and that we should only go through them. Jump forward to mid August after recieving my mod paperwork from my loan servicer and trying to get NACA to look it over. 1 week of being hung up on by NACA, our servicer snuck in or maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention to the fact that our house was on the selling block. We had a contract with our servicer and a mod agreement that gave us until September and they reassured us our home would not be foreclosed on. What did NACA do for us? Use all of our time and energy and forgot to call us back when our house was being sold at the county steps. We declared BK to save our home at the last second. No return calls from naca. Yep, all they did was take up my time. Stilll made me turn in my own paperwork, could have done that on my own. Lots of stress. Do what you need to on your own, it is your house. See how nice they are to you when you write them about a sale date.
  2. I wonder... seeing companies such as Enron if convictions have anything to do with them stealing while in business? I am curious if they gave background checks and what they mean today. OP~ I am sorry for such a mess that$100 can get you into. It makes you wonder what kind of priority there was to get you behind bars. I hope it gets worked out and somehow, you can be Energygate's boss. (Energygate... Enron...hmm.)
  3. I have had a 497, on Equifax I think. There was a time, about 5 years ago that one of mine had NO score at all. I think it was when I first joined CB.
  4. As far as responsible people, who are you referring to? This will be a hot topic I am sure. I bought a house at the end of the bubble, I found a great deal with a chunk of equity. The problem was that many people that own the homes around me were investors and walked away from the market further making my home value drop. I have never missed a payment or been late, but I will need to refinance in December and I won't be able to get enough to cover the mortgage based on the value of my home. IF the VA had been updated 2 years ago and or the FHA and we could have qualified for a better loan, we wouldn't have this problem. The whole thing is a mess and simply saying responsible people don't need this won't help anyone. If I bought my home 5 years ago, I doubt I would be in this problem, but I bet my neighbors would. If there is not enough money leftover after a mortgage is paid, people do not buy other things. Which is good personally for them, taking care of business, but the economy needs people to buy cars and other goods as well. It's a bad cycle and this is a band-aid that may help. Something had to be done. I am scared that even though I qualify for this completely, I will not be able to benefit because I am not in 'that much trouble'. Hard to say how lenders and investors are going to respond to taking a huge chunk less.
  5. Aargon is a terrible little collection agency, right down the street from me. I have had a run in more than a few times with a handful of medical collections. Anyway, this is where you would send the complaint for the State of Nevada http://fid.state.nv.us/ They paid a LOT of money to get their license. A violation of FDCA is also a violation of Nevada Law and they can be fined and loose their license, keep that in mind. Your little debt can be a p.i.t.@ to them. I would try looking yourself up on this site-not sure if you said it was in North Las Vegas or not, but this works for Clark County. http://www.clarkcountycourts.us/ I'm pretty tired, I hope that points you in the right direction.
  6. There are quite a few credit cards you can get that are for rebuilding credit. With your score and baddies, I would try for a secured credit card. They can be wonderful in the first step to rebuilding. You pulled your credit, you know what the baddies are, start off in the noob section when it comes to disputes. Great advice there! Good luck!
  7. I don't think you look like a crazy, you are persistent. These are your rights and the way that they practice business means this is how you have to exercise your rights. They would be much meaner to you.
  8. nuts maybe I should spend another day reading NV law. Thanks for the quick reply. Is this form of Calvary located in New York like the bone heads I have dealt with? Have you contacted Board of Consumer Affairs? I saw that you were referred to them, but did you file the complaint on them?
  9. Calvary is bad, very bad. But, my question is, 5 year old paid charge offs can be removed? Please point me somewhere, my search didn't do well.
  10. me...2005 Honda Pilot DH...2007 Dodge Caliber I used to tease him that he needed a grown up car-now with gas at $$$ his 32 mpg is not bad at all. The Pilot fits my herd of kidlets and gets 22mpg low emission vehicle. Oh, also in my driveway- 1990 Camaro RS uses...it sits there.
  11. Try this one, it has a listing of all 50 states. National Asscoiation of Unclaimed Property Administrators I took an evening and plugged in names for people I know. Found quite a few hits.

    Ouch!

I just wanted to add something to this. I bought a 2005 Pilot a year and a half ago. Here are the main reasons- it gets 22mpg, it didn't even register for the smog test, it ran so well. I have a few kids, I need the room, it's pretty and it's blue. My husband and I had a few discussions over this, he really pushed for new cars for us both. I was fine with our 1987 Oldsmobile (don't laugh, it fit a lot of people, was solid and had ac!) I was fine with my 1996 mini van. Both paid for. My niece was hit in her Honda Civic by a guy racing on the freeway going 110mph. The car crumpled itself around her, she walked away. I could not get that out of my head when I saw the pictures of her car. It probably isn't the best financial sense for me to pay what I do for my car, and I'm probably in the hole. But when it comes to safety features that were not on our older cars, what price could be put on that? Fine, I pay a big safety fee each month.
  13. I just want to lend a hug and hope to you guys. For the LOs, this is their everyday job. For us, it is a huge part of our life. The priority difference is a lot to keep up with. We had a hard time buying our first house and we were waiting for it to be built. The LO wouldn't call me back, it was a hassle to say the least and he had no empathy for me. Couldn't get us approved VA so we backed out as hard as it was for us. We took a deep breath, a few days at Disneyland, and a few months later we got a much nicer house with a better deal and better people. It was really hard letting go, this is a huge deal! HOME! Every time I walk in my front door, I smile. I am even happy doing doggy duty in the back yard because it's my yard and I want it clean, and I am happy I have MY DOGS and no landlord to yell at me for them. I have blue paint in my loft and it is just wonderful! Deep breath, take up solitaire on your cell phone or another nervous tick that can help you pass time and cut down on worry. Do what you need to and hope for the best. Have a beer when you can, maybe grab extra hugs from your happy people in your life. I should take my own advice, we are 5 months away from our mortgage going adjustable and I am getting gray hair. (hugs)
  14. I get TC and so I know where to start and keep track. Yesterday I did a bunch of disputes and got free credit reports from all 3, but I has just been denied credit. I was able to go to TU and get a free report to start a dispute without proving I was denied credit, I think Experian did too. EQ was a pain. There is a lot more listed in the real credit report that doesn't show up on TC and that gives you more to dispute with. A few years ago, I believe I used the same report number for quite a few months....get one in the mail with a resolution, dispute the next on the list... get a new one, dispute again through the mail. I have had some pretty good luck disputing things online because I am lazy. Some hairy ones needed to be mailed. Good luck!
  15. The lender is Ocwen for both loans. On the first note we will continue to be charged interest only until 2010, but the rate on the first goes adjustable December 1, 2008. It can adjust up to 10.7 for the first time , (no higher than 13.7) and no lower than 7.7. just read through all of our papers, the 2nd stays the same at 12.55 Thanks for the Zillow info.
