I've been treated pretty well recently with Chase so far. I had received a CLD before on one of my credit cards but they approved my CLI on Sapphire Preferred from 19k to 40k a month ago.
-
Yeah, I had good scores when I applied and I never got any offers. As others have mentioned, it might be worth apping.
-
I'm at a 40k limit with CashRewards. I actually don't run anything through it since I prefer to use my Chase Sapphire Preferred. I could ask for 50k but at this point, I see no reason when I don't need more credit from them. Nice thing though was that I was able to get Chase to match the NFCU card to 40k.

I'm trying to ask for the max but I am nervous.
-
So, how did it go? I'm thinking about asking for a CLI myself. Do you know if you can't have asked for one within 6 months?
-
Mine doesn't have my name on the front. Everything is on the back for me. I wonder if this is an updated design.

They really are a great bank. Having to drive 2.5 hours to pick up a loan check, and another 2.5 back sucked, but it's not like I do that often I have you all to thank for the suggestion because I would have never found or considered them otherwise. Wow...so you drove five hours to pick up a check? You couldn't pay a fee for them to overnight it? It would've been cheaper in gas I imagine as well as your time. Crazy...but I can see myself doing that too since I'm a car nut too. Congrats on your car! Few reasons... My friend bought a car, it was shipped to the dealership, the dealership sold it before he went to pick it up, and he had already fully paid for it! So of course he got his money back and spent it elsewhere. While I was there, other people showed up to look at it -- and this was the first day it was listed. The dealership didn't really seem like they wanted to hold it, and the salesman said he had to check with the boss to see if they'd hold it if I left a deposit. Maybe it was just show, but I can see why they wouldn't want to lose a sale because someone said they would pick it up in a couple days... Either way, 5 hours of driving wasn't going to deter me. They do offer to overnight the check, but I didn't want to wait another day to avoid driving a few hours Thanks! Ahh, well if the dealership wasn't giving you guarantees, I can see why you did that. I just bought a car myself and I had a similar situation. I'm in Virginia but the car was in South Carolina. I agreed on a price and put a deposit on the car. I flew down there the following Friday and drove it back up. I would've been pissed if the car had been sold before I got there as wel. I figured if you had put a deposit, they would keep their word. But, who knows with dealerships...but you know, the dealership in South Carolina seemed to have the Southern hospitality thing for sure, compared to the dealers up in Virginia.

My one experience has been successful so far with them granting me an additional 23k. They pulled a hard and from what I can tell, others had the same experience. How long have you had the card for? The forum says that most people wait till 6 months and for my case, I requested it after a year or two of having it.

No income verification for me. However, I have heard of Penfed (and most credit unions) do ask of it sometimes but depends on the situation. To be on the safe side, I would be ready to show it if they do ask.
-
Congrats...I Just got an instant approval myself for 25k...It was only a couple of years that PenFed wouldn't even give me a 10k auto loan. Maybe PenFed is being more lenient with their credit.
-
You can get into PenFed by joining one of the associations...can't recall the name but I'm sure someone else can chime in the name. I just got approved for their 5% gas cashback card myself since I'm using a lot more gas lately.

It will show up...showed up for me after a couple of days.

I always thought that one person can only finance one vehicle on what Marv has said in his previous assessments. However, I guess it really depends on a person's credit profile and income cause I just financed another car in the 60k range. So, I have two car loans right now and I just got a pre-approval from PenFed for another car loan. Not that I plan on getting another one but I was surprised that I could get another car loan if I wanted to.

I would say it would be pretty difficult to refinance the car to a better rate given your scores and history. What's the car worth on KBB? Pay extra on the loan if you can.
