Just got into NCFU. When should I ask for a CLI, after 6 months, right away?

I applied and got $10k a few days ago and asked for an increase today to $20k plus $10k navcheck. Still waiting on the increase approval. But the branch said give it 6 months. The rep on the phone said 3 months.

I have had my cash rewards card for a lil over 6 months started at 15k just requested a cli the other day to 25k. They gave me the 3-5 day message and a few hours later i noticed they increased it 2500 more but i took a hard pull for it on eq

If you don't mind saying what is your annual income?

I asked. I actually requested 25k (what did I have to lose) and was shocked that they countered so high. No hard either.

At that time it was around 72k I believe.

Did you get approved? What is your income (if you don't mind) and did they do a hard pull? I thought NFCU is a bunch of softies...

It depends on what you initial CL is...30k is the max that they approve for a new CC and you have to wait 6 months from that period for a CLI and it will most likely be a hard. I can almost guarantee that. Now for anything below 30k it's a toss up and most people are successful prior to the 6 month mark.

Do they do a hardpull? I got $10K now and looking to go up to $20K. I'd be thrilled.

In that range it's a toss up. I know of some that were and weren't. It really just depends.

I got a call from them today and they left me a message about needing my stubs to approve the $10k Navcheck. When I returned the call, I asked the rep about my pending CLI. He said it was disapproved. Go figure. I'm going to try and recon that or negotiate less of a navcheck. But I did get a hard on EQ and TU.

You got hards for the increase?

Do you think asking for a CLI within days of applying and being approved for the card is a good idea?

You can ask. There is really nothing to lose, as they should use your initial credit report and not have to pull another.

They typically do NOT reuse a pull for a separate requests.

If eligible for a pre-approved CLI it is possible to get it without a HP.

With NFCU it does often seem the sky is the limit but IMO it can help to wait at least 60-90 days of nice usage/ somewhat improved profile before reaching for the stars. Granted, my 1st CLI was after circa 60 days, since I had no better fun, asked kinda earlyish on the 1st request...have had a handful since then too.

I agree on the 60-90 days. I have had NFC for almost 6 months asked for a 4k limit increase and the declined due to my having a late payment hist with NFCU, I always paid my bill 10 days early in the branch and have all the stubs and statements to back this up. Def going to try for a reconsideration.
