I have a usb peripheral that i carry around a heck of alot.. The cable is monstrously longer then i need it to be. I would have preferred it to have came with just a connection port on the device...

Is there any place i can buy a female terminator that is fairly easy to wire? i imagine ill need to solder the connections.. but do they even make that? Red is Vbus, white is dat- green is dat+, and black is ground.. soooo... why not?...the device is currently a type A, but i see no reason i shouldnt be able to convert it to a type b (which i find easier to plug into for some reason)... then i can use either a coil cable or retracting cable and save my self the added cable mess...

I mean.. terminating Ethernet lines was cake, with the exception of probably needing to involve solder in the process, how much more difficult can this be?all you need to know is which cable goes where..

An example of my point is, consider headphones, most come with a cord, usually either too long or too short for your needs, while alot of the fancy schmancy ones come with either a female plug, or a cable thats just an inch or two long, expecting you to plug in a cord that is as long, or as short, as you require....

i was just wondering...

You can buy the connectors

Vcc | Data- | Data+ | Ground

Thanks, will look into it!

Or just buy a retractable one?

See, the thing is it already has about 2 meters worth of cable attached. I WANT a retractor, or a coiled cable... but i would still have it at the end of six to 8 feet of the attached wire,...
