I hear they will authorize charges for visits to UA/Continental lounges to be paid by JP Morgan. I know of one person who had their UA lounge year pass paid for. Pretty sure my buddy had it paid for after he showed a bunch of charges to UA lounges. Not sure if you need to authorize in advance or not on the solo visits.

thanks for the info. I'll have to give it a try.

I've tried it and they were not willing to help.

Here is the latest on the Priority Pass Select Card from JP. In regards to the information you requested about the Priority Pass, it has come to my attention that they will be running under a new name called Lounge Club which will be ruled out starting mid 2012. The website, should you choose to review it, is https://www.loungeclub.com/en/..

This is who the Visa Black Card uses now. They dropped Priority Pass Select card. Here is where it gets tricky. Both companies are under one group. The Priority Travel Group. Here is their web link. http://www.priorityt...lt/index.cfm The bad news is that they (at least with Black Card) do not include guest at no charge and definatly don't work in United / Continental Red Carpet Clubs. As far a I can see ; only a full blown Priority Pass (not the Select) card will work in the United Clubs. To make things even more confusing. The United Mileage Plus cards that are under Chase Bank have access ????????????

You will earn 2 points for each $1 of net purchases made at retail locations that classify their merchant location for Visa in any of the following categories: airlines, car rental agencies (excluding truck, trailer, and RV), and lodging establishments. Online and catalog purchases are not eligible to receive the 2 points unless the merchants have correctly identified and billed the transactions. We do not determine whether merchants correctly identify and bill transactions as being made at locations in each particular category. However, we do reserve the right to determine which purchases qualify for the 2 points. You will earn an additional 1 point for each $1 of eligible airfare net purchases made online through the program booking tool. You will earn 1 point for each $1 of all other net purchases. As a one-time bonus Annually, once you reach $100,000 or more in net purchases, and you make one additional purchase within that year, you will receive 35,000 bonus points. ("Annually" means the year beginning with your enrollment date through the fi rst statement after the anniversary of your enrollment date, and each twelve months thereafter.) You do not earn points on balance transfers, cash advances, cash-like charges such as travelers checks, foreign currency, and money orders, any checks that are used to access your account, overdraft advances, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, or fees of any kind, including fees for products that protect or insure the balances of your account. There is no maximum number of points that you can accumulate in the program. A service fee of up to $20 per ticket may be charged for the use of our toll-free number to book or

change airline itineraries. Redemptions made online do not have a service fee. See Rewards Program Rules and Regulations which will be mailed after your account is established

I was able to reallocate my credit line from my chase freedom card over to the palladium card without any problems. Sent in a message online and it was done within a day.

Does the chase checking bonus apply to all chase cards or just the Freedom? The bonus being an extra 10% on purchases (1.1%) and 10 cents for every transaction.

Just Freedom. Same thing goes for the 2x points in dining for Sapphire and Sapphire Preffered, the 2x point on travel for Sapphire Preffered, etc.

I had no problem I think but it is hard to say.

I have had the card for like 2 weeks. When I first logged in, it said a limit of 40k on the card. Within two weeks, I wanted to charge a couple of large charges that would have taken me over the 40k. I called first and they said they would note in the account and because of the type of account, there was no issue. After the charges when through, my balance should have been around 52k (with the pending large charges). My account said 40k limit. $0 dollars available balance. My wife had card declined on saturday (btw probably related to the visa outage). I called up and said oh, looks like the big charges are pending and show $0 available credit, can I still use the card? They said they didn't see any declines and that given my account, I could still make charges and there would be no problem.

I log in today to pay the large charges and bring my account below my 40k limit. It now says I have 60k limit and 8k available credit. Not sure if rep just increased my limit or what. Hope that helps.

Remember these cards can be charged above their limits.

In the first month anything over the credit limit is subject to review and manual approval. I had to exceed my credit limit within the first couple weeks and it was declined, after calling Chase from the location they approved the charge but everything after that was declined until I paid the statement. My problem is Chase gave me a $15,000 limit and I have exceeded it every month for the last six months so I am hoping they will give me a CLI but wanted to check here first to see the possibility of it happening before I ask. Perhaps you could transfer some of your limit to me ;)

Palladium AF is crazy, yes the card is neat but the AF is still not worth the benefits in general. So bye bye Palladium, it's fun and everything but there's much better stuff to spend money on than a AF

what's up?

Don't want to post it public because it will definitely result in a policy change. It has to do with the AF of this card. PM if you want to know more.

Don't know if this is true or not, but was posted by JCarter on creditcardforum.

"The benefits vary on which "level" of Palladium you have. If I can get my brochure scanned in, I will lay out the differences.

If you apply through the card through your wealth management office, then you get a level (3) (assuming that is how it is classified, is numbers?) card. Through Chase Premier Banking for the law group, it's a level (2) and then directly applying is a level (1)."

I just wanted to say hi to you all. I just applied for this card yesterday.

The rep i spoke with was very kind and emailed me the application. I filled it out and faxed it over at the end of the day. I received a phone call this morning telling me that they are reviewing my application now. I was told it may be a possibility that I will receive my card on Friday if I get accepted. Fingers crossed...

GL, if you have another chase card it will show up on the website or you can always call to check on the status. They will probably know one way or the other by tomorrow afternoon.

I don't know why the previous post has all these formatting issues, here's a repost. (Mods, can you delete the previous message post?)

I filled out the Palladium card application and then faxed it in on Monday

On Tuesday morning, I received a call from customer service and the CS rep inquired as to why I have so many Chase accounts (Sapphire, Freedom, Sapphire Preferred) and why I was interested in this Palladium card

I explained that I'm looking for a premium credit card to do most of my charges on and it's either the Palladium or the comparable AMEX Product (platinum). That and I just really like the Ultimate Rewards program. I find it much more rewarding than the AMEX Membership Rewards points for me. Although the MR points are transferable to more carriers, it's cash value is much more decreased compared to UR points

The CS rep asked if it was okay to reallocate some of my other credit limits for this new card, and I gave him permission to. I was told that if I get approved, I should receive the new card by Friday via UPS shipping

Today I see that my credit limit on 2 of my current Chase cards have already decreased by $9,000. No sign of the Palladium card in my Chase online account however. I keep logging in throughout the day. My credit monitoring (AMEX free Experian check) tells me that an inquiry was made on my Experian report on 4/10/2012.

I'm also feeling very anxious and wondering what's going to happen if I get denied for the Palladium card AND have my current credit limits lowered. That will be a double hit to my pride

FYI, I checked my credit scores before applying:

Experian score (www.myfico.com) it is currently 787.

Transunion score (www.transunion.com) is currently 962.

My credit utilization is around 6%

Will keep you guys updated, hopefully sooner than later.

I couldn't wait, the anxiety was killing me, so I just called the Chase application status automated hotline at 800-432-3117

"Congratulations, your credit card has been approved for $20,000 credit limit, APR is 13.24% variable"

Then I spoke with a rep who confirmed that I was approved and told my UPS tracking number shipping via next day air saver. She checked the status and told me I should be receiving my card at 3pm today!!! I am super excited. I've never been denied for any credit card applications before, but this one definitely left me VERY nervous. Like a high school geek asking a girl to the prom.grin.gif

Wow this card is NICE NICE NICE.

For those of you who are using the metal card, does it scratch easily? I ordered a plastic version of the card as well to use on a regular basis without drawing too much attention to myself.

congrats!

Mine has not scratched at all and it has certainly gotten a lot of use and abuse. You can request plastic editions of the card if you are worried.

I am being careful, however, in not putting Pd and sapphire preferred next to each other in my wallet since they are both metal, although sapphire is more like a paper clip and Pd is more like a brick.

can you post a photo of your welcome packet? I am curious if the 2012 edition is different from the one I got last year. thanks.

From my understanding, the Chase Private Client website seems to imply that those members can choose the Palladium card and that there may or may not be special benefits for them. But maybe I'm reading it wrong?
