Ok, post a little story on the most ridiculous thing an oc/ca/cra has done to you. nothing beats a little light reading.

I think I will go for the most ballzy thing a CA has ever done against me. Some collector snuck into his boss's office. His boss is an attorney and owns his own collection lawfirm. This guy got on the attorney's email and sent me a virus. When I called up the attorney/owner he was quite confused and thought I was nuts until he checked his outbox on his email and found that it was sent. He said he would investigate but I never heard back.

This just recent.... CA (Asset Acceptance) reported me 120+ days late 1 month after payment in full on a collection...

I suppose a CA having mass pizzas delivered to my door could be construed as a bit strange also but it has been a wild 14 months now. I am also up to 3 death threats now since I started. How could I leave all this.

Well I had one redneck peckerhead send a letter to me under the guise of in response to my BBB complaint, NOW NOTE interestingly the BBB reliability report about this CA showed that over 100 complaints later the company had advised it would not respond to any future BBB complaints as a matter of company policy <- does that make sense?

Basically they knew they had blown it and were looking to communicate any way they could, I sent them a cease and desist next and they folded, they're lucky I didn't and don't sue them I was declined for a discover card over there BS and numerous violations and it was a completely bogus bill - no joke.

Well I already told my whistle story so... one of my other faves is the time this dingbat from a "law firm" CA called back, in a rage because I had hung up on her...

CA: Don't you know it's AGAINST THE LAW for you to hang up on a debt collector!?

ME: Nah. <click> (hung up again)

CA calls right back...

CA: Now you're really in trouble, Miz Idare. I HAVE THE SHERIFF ON THE OTHER LINE. DO NOT HANG UP ON ME AGAIN!

ME: Oh reeeeally...

CA: YES THE SHERIFF IS ON THE LINE AND HE'S GOING TO BE RIGHT OVER TO PICK YOU UP. NOW WHAT IS YOUR ADDRESS???

ME: <laughing hysterically> Ok hold on a minute. I'm going to turn on my tape recorder. I'm sure the REAL Sheriff would LOVE to hear about this. Impersonating the Sheriff is -

CA: <click> (she hung up on ME, dammit!)

Oh if I could only do it over again...

Equifax reporting an account that had been closed / paid off / 0 balance for 6 years as "currently 120 days past due."

Oh, and them verifying three Cap One cards as "open" when they'd been closed for 6 months...

An attorney representing Citibank had sued us and won judgments. We had filed BK just a day or two after court. Then he went and recorded liens against me about 5 days after he was notified of the filing. UMMM.... can you say sanctions???

well this isn't all that ridiculous, but it was pretty silly, considering most people know when CAs are calling, so here goes:

Well Verizon Wireless called my house, my sister picks up the phone and they asked to speak to me. Not that I was ducking their calls, but I specifically asked them not to call me in my letters. Anyway, when she told me who it was, I told her to ask what they were calling for. They said, that I recently called into Verizon Wireless and that they were taking a survey to get feedback on customer service. Uh, yeah, considering I hadn't called Verizon in years, I don't know why they thought I would fall for that. So I just told them "not interested" and hung up before they could get a word out.

Another one, a CA was calling for my mom. So my brother picks up the phone and they asked to speak to her. He says "she's not here" (she really wasnt home) and he hangs up. They call back in like 5 minutes and he does the same thing. The next thing you know, the same CA calls and actually gets my mom on the phone and the CA told on my brother, saying that he hung up on her!:lol: hilarious.

A couple days ago I was on a 3 way call for someone with a CA and they started abusing her so I spoke up(she never knew I was on the line) and the CA told me I had just broken the fdcpa for 3rd party disclosure. I am still trying to find that statute.

This is no where near the other ones, but before CB and before I had gotten a chance to send them a limited C&D (since telling them verbally wasn't working), I was on the phone with the CA for our old cell phone. I was trying to negotiate a PFD since I knew we owed them, but I wasn't about to pay their amount especially since they couldn't tell me how they came to that figure (funny how they still haven't responded to my DV).

Anyway, I told the lady that we weren't going to pay unless it was removed from the CR, to which she replied that they don't do that, but they would mark it paid :dntknw: . I kept arguing with her that a paid collection was no better than an unpaid one. She came back saying that we would never be able to get credit again, or buy a house (again  ) and since it was only in my husband's name that she would call back and talk to him about it since I was making a bad decision. I came back with "I make the decisions in this house, and he'll just do what I say anyway". She just gave me a smart flowers laugh, said "OH really" and hung up. Little does she know I DO make all the decisions in our household

I wonder what type of training some of these folks get. The scare tactics they use are amazing.
