I have worked so hard in the last year to get my credit up from it's abysmal state, and now somehow I've ruined it.

I paid (so I thought) both car loans last Mon or Tues. Went thru the whole process. One payment came out of my account. The Chrysler didn't come out of my bank but the other car did. I notiiced that around Wed or Thurs last week but just figured it was taking a while to process. No prob-the $$$ was in my bank act. I just checked my messages from the weekend and I had 3 messages from Chrysler. Wondering what was up since I clearly remember making the payment, and how much I paid (usually I pay 2 months at a time, but bc of DH's surgery last month and since the disability checks JUST started rolling in, I decided to only pay $300.) When I went to make the payment last week, I noticed that the payment was due for Feb-so I was paying that plus some extra.

I have often paid a little late-sometimes 20 days or so. I was relieved when I was making the payment because I just made it under the wire before I could be 30 days late, with some room to spare-so no baddies on my CR.

The stupid payment never went thru-not NSF, just never registered, as if I never made the friggin payment. Nothing. I called Chrysler freaking out and they can't find a record of any payment. I haven't been printing the confirmation pages lately for any payments either. I checked my email-no confirmation, no nothing. The guy told me that today is 30 days late, and that even a western union payment won't post till tomorrow, so there's nothing they can do but hit me with a 30. I am so so upset right now. I sent DH to do the western union anyway, but I'm not hopeful. I've worked so hard and my disorganization & stress has finally gotten the better of me. This time it was not a lack of finances, since the $$ has been sitting in my checking act waiting for this non existent payment to post.

I am so so so upset I'm in tears. AND I MADE THE DAMN PAYMENT. I have no idea what the hell happened. :P :P

Agreed with pryan...

This happened to DW with Chrysler before (in 06) because of my stupidity...

They will likely respond with a letter letting you know...To be quite honest they may not report it. So I would wait until they do as not to stir the pot if its not needed.

I am sorry to hear that this has happened to you. I am in the beginning of my credit repair and I KNOW you have worked hard. But you must not let this get the better of you. Try the goodwill letter and see what happens.

Calm down... we all make mistakes.

Now, put your time into getting this fixed. You need to figure out who the payment is going to go to.

Do NOT dispute the late or you may lose the tradeline and future goodwill will mean nothing. Bad idea right now.

I think a friend of mine did a goodwill through PFB, but I could be wrong. Sending them an email now to confirm.

I'd send a goodwill letter to the following people at Chrysler Financial:

Mr. Leland Wilson, CFO; Mr. William Jones, Jr., COO; Mr. Thomas F. Gilman (Executive Vice Chairman)

I have the addresses at home, PM me to remind me if no one else posts them and I'll post them from there.

I made the payment when I realized the mistake last week.

I actually made the payment the week before that which would have prevented it from being 30+ days late. I went through the whole process, and remember that instead of making a double payment like I often do, I paid an even $300.

But, something obviously happened, and I didn't notice....after a few days I did notice that while the Hyundai payment came out of the bank, the chrysler did not. Didn't think much of it, since I made both payments at once, I figured maybe chrysler takes an extra day. Then the weekend happened, and since I wasn't really sweating it, and thought the delay in deducting the funds was no biggie, and the weekend happened (busy, etc) I checked some voicemails Monday or tues and wondered WTF chrysler left me messages over the weekend. double check email, and lo and behold-no email confirmation. I have no idea what happened, but the chrysler has no record of any payment. The money was sitting there waiting for them...IDK

So I had DH send it by western union immediately when I found out what happened. But Chrysler didn't want to hear any of it unless I could produce proof of a payment that obviously never processed.

I always print the confirmation screen to paper when I make an online payment. Always, always, always. It's helped me out TWICE when payments were "lost" by the banks. Also, seeing the confirmation on paper confirms to me that I actually did click all the submit buttons enough. That's a lesson learned.

The 30-day late should be removable, but not by the CSRs. I head home around 2am, so if no one posts the address, please PM me later tonight so I don't forget.

While Liberty is being very kind, jump on it now. Have you searched for contacts?

You have a FULL business day tomorrow... I would have messages in their in-boxes by morning.

Don't tarry. Get to Google ASAP!

Check your PM, I sent you what information I have on Chrysler Financial goodwill. Please PM me when you get some results (good or bad) so I can keep it fresh and updated. I'm trying to keep all the goodwill contact information current so others can use it.

Then other days, you feel like taking on anybody and everybody, cause you had a good credit day.

I am googling like crazy, but can't find any email formats or contacts for cfc. So I'm starting with PFB, and I'll probably format this into a faxable letter to send tomorrow. Luckily I had already taken the day off tomorrow. I may try calling corporate as well.

Even if worse comes to worse with your situation you still have very good scores - they average out very nicely.

I don't have very good scores with a 628. That is where I sat months ago, and I put in way too much work to be ok with that score, especially since I made the darn payment. At last check, my EX was 1 pt away from 700, and I worked my azz off to get there. Obviously my EX & TU have plummeted to, but I'm not paying to see the damage at this point. So all I know is EQ right now. The others must be in the 500s.:huh:

thank you...liberty and jack. I am working on those contacts as we speak, lib and I appreciate you sending them to me. jack, you are always an inspiration and a bundle of good credit energy! thanks for the encouragement!

Please, all...wish me luck before I lose all my hard earned TLs....

Let us know how the gw goes. I would prefer to do business with a company that didn't take a hardline approach in a matter like this. At this juncture, I think Chrysler can use all the business they can.

Playing with fire is never a good idea.

ITA-that was part of my problem. It was ordinary course of business for me pre-CB, and I have improved greatly in making my installment payments on time, as opposed to just making sure I paid them before the 30 day late, but at the time the payment was initially due, DH had major surgery, and my entire house was ripped apart from a kitchen remodel. I really lost my footing on any organization around the home at that time.

I've noticed other banks not taking payments out. Maybe they do this to rack up late fees. WTF. I notice as soon as the next statement cuts, and avoid more lates.

Well, in this instance, it wasn't a bank issue, but some glitch that obviously happened with the chrysler website. There is no record of me even having attempted to make the payment that I definitely made, so it never even hit the bank in the first place.

Well, because I promised I would update this, tho it is a good 6 weeks later, my CR has been restored and the Chrysler late is GONE.

Thank you all for the excellent advice, with special thanks for Stryker and mrliberty!!!!

While I wasn't able to make direct contact at first with GW contacts, Stryker had excellent suggestions, which worked out perfectly.

Awesome! I am truly excited for you. I truly believe in the techniques, but you deserve the credit for seeing it through!

WTG.

I am going to link this in the main Goodwill thread; you should also post a summary there to serve as a resource to other CBers.

Amen!

And good luck with this. I have to keep reminding myself that I'm better off being aware of my situation than I was when I was blissfully ignorant. It's certainly not a realm where we have 100% control over our own lives, though. Sometimes it's brutally unfair.
